Basketball legend Michael Jordan's autographed trainers from 1985 sold for a record $560,000 (£463,000) in an online auction.
The Nike Air Jordan 1s, worn by Jordan during his rookie season with the Chicago Bulls, were expected to fetch between $100,00-$150,000 at Sotheby's.
The previous record was $437,500 for a pair of Nike's 1972 Moon Shoes.
Jordan wore mismatched trainers, with the left a size 13 and the right a size 13.5.
The Air Jordan 1s were sold by Jordan Geller, who founded the trainer museum Shoezeum in Las Vegas.

French Cyclist Remy Di Gregorio Banned By UCI for 4 Years
Remy Di Gregorio (34), a French road bicycle racer, has been banned for 4 years by the International Cycling Union (UCI) for using a form of banned blood-boosting hormone EPO (Erythropoietin).
He had tested positive for the hormone during a long-distance trip from Paris to Nice during a doping test on March 8, 2018. His suspension starts from the date of the test so he will be suspended until 7 March 2022.
Kumar Sangakkara Set For 2nd Term as MCC President
Former Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara is set to serve his second term as the president of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
He became the first non-British President of the club when he assumed office on October 1, 2019. Sangakkara is all set to enter an elite list of people who have served multiple terms.
Presidents of MCC traditionally serve only a 12-month term, but during the first and second World War, Lord Hawke (1914-18) and Stanley Christopherson (1939-45) both served for longer periods.

Sania Mirza first Indian to win Fed Cup Heart Award
Tennis player Sania Mirza became the first Indian to win the Fed Cup Heart Award for her successful return to the court post motherhood. Sania won the award for Asia/Oceania zone after securing a whopping 10,000 plus votes out of the total 16,985 cast for this year's three regional Group I nominees.
The Fed Cup Heart Award winners were determined via online voting by fans which went on for a week starting from May 1, 2020. Sania's vote share of over 60 per cent of the total votes is a testimony to the global popularity of the Indian star at the Fed Cup competition.

Deepa Malik, India's lone woman Paralympics silver medallist, announced that she will be hanging her boots from active sports in order to serve as the president of the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) in accordance with the National Sports Code.

China won the inaugural $180,000 FIDE Chess.com Online Nations Cup following a 2-2 draw against USA.
China, which lost to USA in the concluding league match, was declared the winner on the basis of topping the points table in the round-robin stage.
China won $48,000, USA $36,000 and others received $24,000 each.
India concluded its campaign by playing to its seeding and finished fifth, ahead of sixth seed Rest of the World.
With Viswanathan Anand taking a break on the final day of the league stage, India lost 1.5-2.5 to third seed Russia, which eventually took the fourth spot.

Magnus Carlsen Wins $70,000
World champion Magnus Carlsen has won the richest online chess tournament in history, bagging the history-making $70,000 winner's prize.
Appropriately enough, the Norwegian grandmaster conquered American Hikaru Nakamura in the final of the Magnus Carlsen Invitational, his namesake event.
With a total prize fund of $250,000, the tournament is the most lucrative online chess tournament in history and was organized by Carlsen to fill the void of live, over-the-board chess.
