India's Mars Orbiter spacecraft has completed seven years in its orbit, well beyond its designed mission life of six months.
"Indeed, a satisfying feeling," K. Radhakrishnan who as the then Chairman of Indian Space Research Oranisation (ISRO) led the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM, also called Mangalyaan) team told on the milestone. MOM is the maiden interplanetary mission of ISRO.
Launched on November 5, 2013, the probe was successfully inserted into Martian orbit on September 24, 2014 in its first attempt.
NASA Launches Landsat 9 Satellite to Boost Climate Change Monitoring
NASA's Landsat 9 satellite was successfully launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The satellite will monitor the Earth's land surface and provide data to assist in climate change planning.
It lifted off on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex 3E, following which the Landsat 9 observatory successfully separated from the vehicle.
The launch marks nearly 50 years of Landsat presence in space. The first launch was in 1972 – since then, a Landsat has always remained in orbit. The Landsat 9 will join previously-launched Landsat 8 to collect images across Earth every eight days. NASA said that these images assist research on monitoring forests, agriculture, quality of water, health of coral reef habitats, and behaviour of glaciers.

Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak Launches Space Start-up Privateer
Apple's co-creator Steve Wozniak has launched a new space start-up called Privateer Space, bringing potential competition to a field dominated by billionaires Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson. Privateer was represented at the Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies Conference in Hawaii.
The global space economy, which has attracted many top companies such as Tesla and Amazon, involves various activities such as research and development, space tourism and the utilisation of space. Bank of America predicts the space economy will have more than tripled in size by 2030, with a $1.4 trillion market value.
Mr. Wozniak co-founded Apple Computers in 1976 with fellow college dropout Steve Jobs and businessman Ronald Wayne.
Jobs and Mr. Wozniak left Apple in 1985 though they remained shareholders and Jobs later returned to the company.
In 2002, Mr. Wozniak co-founded another company called Wheels of Zeus (WoZ) with Mr. Fielding. WoZ worked on global positioning system smart tags and was disbanded in 2006.

NASA Announces Landing Site for VIPER Lunar Rover
NASA has chosen the western edge of Nobile Crater at the Moon's South Pole as the landing site for its upcoming Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER).
NASA's VIPER rover will land near the western edge of Nobile Crater in 2023 on a 100-day mission.
Part of the agency's Artemis lunar exploration program, the mobile robot will map and explore the region's surface and subsurface for water and other resources.
The Moon's South Pole is one of the coldest areas in our solar system.
Nobile Crater is an impact crater that was formed through a collision with another smaller celestial body, and is almost permanently covered in shadows, allowing ice to exist there.

China Launches Supplies for Under-construction Space Station
China launched a second unmanned cargo spacecraft, which will join the core module of the country's under-construction space station carrying supplies for future missions.
The robotic Tianzhou-3 cargo spacecraft was launched on a Long March 7 carrier rocket from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in south China's Hainan province.
The Tianzhou-3 is carrying supplies including water and propellant to sustain missions in the future and will dock with China's Tianhe space station, which is expected to become operational in 2022. The Tianzhou-3 mission is the fourth of 11 missions designed to build China's space station, Tiangong or "Heavenly Palace".

SpaceX Tourists Return to Earth
Four SpaceX tourists returned to Earth from a three-day extra-terrestrial excursion, marking the end of the first-ever flight to Earth's orbit flown entirely by tourists or otherwise non-astronauts.
SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean off coast Florida.
Though they're not the first tourists to travel to orbit, their mission, called Inspiration4, was notable because it did not involve a stay at the International Space Station under the tutelage of professional astronauts, as previous missions involving space tourists have.
