Seinfeld Star and Father of Actor Ben Dies Aged 92
Born in New York in 1927, Stiller spent many years in a comedy team with his wife Anne Meara, who died in 2015.
Comedian Jerry Stiller, best known for his recurring role as George Costanza's father on TV's Seinfeld, has died aged 92, his actor son Ben has confirmed.
His other roles included Arthur Spooner in TV sitcom The King of Queens.
Stiller appeared with son Ben in several film comedies, among them Zoolander, Zoolander 2 and The Heartbreak Kid.
Ratan Khatri, Matka King of 60s-90s, Dead
Ratan Khatri, considered by many as among the pioneers of betting in India, has died. Khatri, 88, died after a brief illness at his home in Navjeevan Society in Mumbai Central area.
Hailing from a Sindhi family, Khatri came to Mumbai from Karachi in Pakistan when he was a teenager during the partition in 1947. Famous for his 'Matka King' sobriquet, Khatri is credited with transforming matka (a form of gambling that originated in Mumbai in 1962) into India's biggest betting racket and established a nation-wide gambling network that lasted for decades under his control.

Historian Hari Sankar Vasudevan dies of Covid-19 in Kolkata
Noted historian Hari Sankar Vasudevan died of Covid-19 at a private hospital near his residence at Salt Lake on the eastern outskirts of Kolkata. He was 68 and is survived by his wife, historian Tapati Guha Thakurta.
Vasudevan was an expert on European and Russian history and India-Russia relationship. He was a professor at Calcutta University. He graduated from Cambridge University, where he also completed his post-graduation and PhD. He authored many books.
Little Richard: Rock 'n' roll pioneer dies
Pioneering rock 'n' roll singer Little Richard has died at the age of 87.
Little Richard's hit Good Golly Miss Molly made the charts in 1958. Other well-known songs include Tutti Frutti and Long Tall Sally.
The Beatles, Elton John and Elvis Presley all cited him an influence. The singer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
He died of bone cancer in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Yes Bank has appointed Neeraj Dhawan as its chief risk officer with immediate effect.
The board of directors, vide their resolution dated May 1, 2020, appointed Neeraj Dhawan as the chief risk officer of the bank for a period of three years.
He assumed charge in place of Ashish Agarwal.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) extended environmentalist and actor-producer Dia Mirza's term as its National Goodwill Ambassador for another two years till the end of 2022.
Dia is also a United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Advocate.

Florian Schneider, co-founder of highly influential electronic pop group Kraftwerk, has died at the age of 73.
The German quartet set the template for synthesiser music in the 1970s and 80s with songs like Autobahn and The Model.
They achieved both musical innovation and commercial success, and inspired scores of artists across genres ranging from techno to hip-hop.
Swiggy Co-Founder Rahul Jaimini Resigns, to Join Pesto Tech
Swiggy co-founder and chief technology officer Rahul Jaimini has resigned from the online delivery unicorn and will join Pesto Tech, a career accelerator startup, as a co-founder.
Jaimini will continue to be a shareholder and board member of Swiggy.
Jaimin's role, including platform engineering, analytics, IT and labs, will be realigned to Dale Vaz, head of engineering and data science at Swiggy, who has been with the company for close to two years.
Having co-founded Swiggy along with Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy in 2014, Jaimini has been responsible for building Swiggy's technology backbone while overseeing its evolution into the complex system to deliver personalised experiences at scale.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury Takes Charge as Public Accounts Committee Chairman
Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has been reappointed as chairperson of the Parliament's public accounts committee (PAC).
Members of the public accounts committee are elected every year. The 22-member panel includes 15 members from the Lok Sabha and seven from the Rajya Sabha.
Chowdhury was reappointed to the chairman of the committee by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
The PAC examines accounts showing the appropriation of sums granted by Parliament for the expenditure of the Government of India, the annual financial accounts of the Government, and others.

Jamaican singer Millie Small has died at the age of 72 after suffering a stroke.
The star was most famous for her hit single My Boy Lollipop, which reached number two in both the US and the UK in 1964.
It remains one of the biggest-selling ska songs of all time, with more than seven million sales.
Govt appoints Tarun Bajaj as Director on RBI Central Board
The government has appointed Economic Affairs Secretary Tarun Bajaj as a director on the central board of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Bajaj replaced Atanu Chakraborty.
Before joining the Prime Minister's Office in 2015, Bajaj was Joint Secretary in Economic Affairs Department, looking after multilateral funding agencies division.
