The government has appointed Govinda Rajulu Chintala as chairman of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. Chintala is currently chief general manager at Nabard.
The appointments committee of the union cabinet cleared Chintala's appointment for two years till his superannuation in July 2022.
It also cleared the appointment of Shaji KV, currently general manager at Canara Bank, as deputy managing director at Nabard for five years.
WWE's Shad Gaspard Dies Saving his Son
The body of former WWE star Shad Gaspard has been found on Venice Beach in Los Angeles after he went missing while swimming with his son.
The 39-year-old got caught in a rip tide with 10-year-old Aryeh on May 17, 2020.
His son was rescued but lifeguards couldn't save Shad.
Moeketsi Majoro Sworn in as Lesotho's New Prime Minister
Moeketsi Majoro (58) has been sworn in as Lesotho's new prime minister after Thomas Motsoahae Thabane, who has stepped down as prime minister following months of pressure after he was named as a suspect in the 2017 murder of his ex-wife Lipolelo.
Majoro, who was previously served as the finance minister of the country, took the oath at the king's palace in front of dignitaries.

Matkari, 81, considered a pioneer of the children''s drama movement in Marathi.
Matkari had tested coronavirus positive.
From story books for kids to plays, his work in Marathi literature was phenomenal.
Dilip Oommen is the New President of India's Largest Steel Association
Dilip Oommen, CEO, Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has taken over as president of the Indian Steel Association (ISA), the industry body representing large steel manufacturers in India.
He was unanimously appointed as president for the next two years.
Oommen, is a veteran of the steel industry with more than 37 years of experience and an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

Jack Ma Resigns From SoftBank's Board of Directors
Alibaba co-founder Jack Ma will be stepping down from Softbank Group's board of directors, after serving for nearly 13 years. Ma is expected to resign from the Group's board on June 25, 22020 when the group is scheduled to convene its annual shareholder meeting.
Jack Ma had retired as the Executive Chairman of Alibaba in September 2019. His resignation from SoftBank Group comes as he attempts to pull back from formal business roles to focus on philanthropic activities.

Mexican Journalist Killed in 'Armed Attack'
A journalist has been killed in an armed attack in northern Mexico, local authorities say - the third reporter to be killed in the country this year (2020).
Jorge Armenta, the director of media outlet Medios Obson in Ciudad Obregon, was under government protection after receiving death threats.
More than 140 journalists have been killed in Mexico since the year 2000.
Mexico has been described as the deadliest country for reporters outside a war zone by the journalism advocacy group Reporters Without Borders (RSF).

Israel is set to get its first Ethiopia-born minister, with the nomination of a female MP brought there in a secret operation in the 1980s.
Pnina Tamano-Shata has been chosen by incoming deputy prime minister Benny Gantz, who is forming a unity government with PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
Israel's Ethiopian-Jewish community often complains of discrimination.
Incidents of police using force against Israelis of Ethiopian origin - including fatal shootings - have led to street protests and clashes in recent years.
The 140,000-strong community is among the poorest in the country and suffers from high rates of unemployment.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration approved the appointment of senior vice president of HDFC Bank Zubair Iqbal as the new managing director of Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
R K Chibber will continue as the bank''s chairman for the next three years.
