Kisan Diwas
National Farmers' Day, also known as 'Kisan Diwas', is observed every year on December 23 to celebrate the hard work and determination of the farmers. This day was chosen to commemorate the occasion as it marks the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh who belonged to Uttar Pradesh and worked for the welfare of farmers of the nation.
The government of India declared December 23, the day Chaudhary Charan Singh was born, to be celebrated as National Farmers' Day in 2001.
The theme for Farmer's Day 2023 is 'Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience'.

National Mathematics Day
Every year, National Mathematics Day is celebrated on December 22 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
In 2012, the then Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh paid his tribute to Srinivasa Ramanujan at a function organised on December 22. It was done to commemorate his birthday and remember his contributions to the field of Mathematics. December 22 was declared as National Mathematics Day to pay our respects to the legendary mathematician. Since then, National Mathematics Day has been celebrated on this day.

World Basketball Day
World Basketball Day is an annual celebration held on December 21, commemorating the invention of basketball by Dr. James Naismith in 1891.
Dr. James Naismith, a Canadian physical education educator, invented basketball on December 21, 1891, at the International YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA. The game was created to keep students active during the winter months. Recognising the global influence of the sport, on August 25, 2023, the United Nations adopted resolution A/RES/77/324 proclaiming December 21 as World Basketball Day.
