The first Arab space mission to Mars is preparing to lift off within weeks.
It will take seven months to travel the 493 million km (308 million miles) to reach Mars and begin its orbit, sending back ground-breaking new data about its climate and atmosphere.
The probe will remain orbiting Mars for an entire Martian year, 687 days, to gather sufficient data.
A single orbit around Mars will take the probe 55 hours.
According to programme director Sarah Al-Amiri, the project should be a major incentive for young Arab scientists to embark on a career in space engineering.
Named Amal, meaning Hope, the unmanned craft is due to lift off from a remote Japanese island, Tanegashima, during a narrow launch window on 14th July.
Scientist Discover Mirror Image of Earth and Sun
Scientists have discovered a new exoplanet-star pair which resembles our Earth-Sun system.
According to a team of scientists led by the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (MPS) in Gottingen, Germany, the star Kepler-160 and the planet KOI-456, are quite similar to the Sun and the Earth, more than any other planets previously discovered which makes the planet more conducive to life.
The Kepler-160 has at least three planets in its orbit.
The planet is approximately 3,000 light-years away from Earth.
The new discovery is different from previously discovered exoplanets. One of the key reasons for the same is its Sun-like host star.

ISRO Signs MoU with ARIES
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has entered into an agreement with Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) for cooperation in the field of Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and Astrophysics.
Space objects orbital tracking, analysis and space weather studies are important aspects in Space Situational Awareness and Management to safeguard Indian space assets from critical conjunction threats from space debris.
This MoU will pave the way for future collaborations between ISRO and ARIES in establishing optical telescope observational facilities for space object tracking, R&D studies in space weather, astrophysics and Near Earth Object (NEO).

A 170-ft Wide Asteroid Among 5 Flying by Earth Today: NASA Tracker
The Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) of NASA has revealed that five Asteroids are going to pass by the Earth on June 3, 2020 at different intervals.
Among these five asteroids, 2020 KE4 asteroid will pass by Earth today within a distance of 0.01966 astronomical units as per the NASA.
The scientists have revealed that this asteroid, otherwise could be a Potentially Hazardous Object, poses no threat to planet Earth. The Asteroid 2020 KE4 is expected to burn out in the atmosphere.
The asteroids, also known as space rocks, that will pass by Earth are 2020 KF, 2020 KE4, 2020 KK7, 2020 KD4, and 2020 KJ1.

Birth of New Planets Witnessed First Time in Human History
Scientists have captured images of what could the first direct evidence of a planet being born around a young star.
The images, taken by the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope (ESO's VLT), show a dense disc of dust and gas around a young star AB Aurigae in which astronomers have spotted a prominent spiral structure with a 'twist' that marks the planetary maternity ward or the site where a planet may be forming.
The star AB Aurigae around which the new planet is forming is located 520 light years away from earth in the constellation of Auriga or the Charioteer.
A light year is the distance light travels in a year which is 5.9 trillion miles or 9.5 trillion km.
New Type Of Trojan Asteroid Discovered Near Jupiter
A rare kind of space object, which is something between an asteroid and a comet, has been discovered by astronomers. It has been called an active asteroid.
The newly discovered asteroid named 2019 LD2 has an orbit like an asteroid but the tail of a comet. While not entirely unknown, what makes 2019 LD2 special is that it shares Jupiter's orbit in an asteroid swarm known as the Jupiter Trojans.
This is the first Jupiter Trojan astronomers have ever seen spewing out gas as a comet would.
Proxima Centauri b Confirmed as Nearest Exoworld
Four years ago, scientists made one of the most exciting exoplanet discoveries so far, a rocky planet similar in size to Earth orbiting the nearest star to the sun, Proxima Centauri.
While the detection seemed solid, and now the ESPRESSO spectrograph on the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile has provided that extra and more detailed confirmation.
The news was announced by the University of Geneva (UNIGE) on May 28, 2020.
