IIT Jodhpur's School of Liberal Arts Launches 'Centre of Excellence on Arts and Digital Immersion'
The School of Liberal Arts at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur has launched the Centre of Excellence on Arts and Digital Immersion, a first-of-its-kind initiative, which was inaugurated by Padma Bhushan awardee classical vocalist, Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty, and eminent scientist Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar awardee, Professor Ashutosh Sharma, Professor Santanu Chaudhury, Director and, Professor S.R. Vadera, Deputy Director, IIT Jodhpur also graced the event with their presence.
The Centre of Excellence derives its inspiration from the National Education Policy (2020) which encourages an expanded vision of Liberal Arts without any compartmentalisation between the arts, sciences and technology.

BHU Launches Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Internship
Committed to the overall development of its students and to preparing them well for future and career challenges, Banaras Hindu University launched yet another student-oriented initiative, namely Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Internship.
The scheme under the Institution of Eminence, BHU, has been crafted with the aim of offering professional exposure to students and increasing their employability as they venture into professional life after completing university education.
The initiative, besides developing their professional skills, would act as a stepping stone for students to launch their careers.
The one-year internship initially proposes 100 positions during which a selected candidate will be offered a fixed emolument of Rs. 20,000 per month. Initially, the internship has been proposed for five disciplines, which are Library Science, Education, Physical Education, Visual Arts and Performing Arts.
IIT Madras to Host Nobel Laureates under Subra Suresh Distinguished Lecture Series
Indian Institute of Technology Madras will soon launch the Subra Suresh Distinguished Lecture series that will feature lectures by Nobel laureates and globally-renowned speakers from various walks of life. They will also deliver a science talk which will be open to all members of the public.
Nobel laureate Prof Didier Queloz will deliver the inaugural address of the Subra Suresh Distinguished Lecture series in Chennai on October 20. The event will be open to all.
The Subra Suresh Distinguished Lecture Series will be a three-day annual event. Day one will include the technical lecture followed by a public lecture on day two. The final day would focus on interactions between the distinguished speaker and IIT Madras faculty, students and laboratory visits.

Best MBA Colleges: Stanford, Harvard and Wharton Top QS World Ranking for Business Schools
IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore retained their slots among the top 50 global business schools in the latest round of the QS World University Rankings: Global MBA and Business Master's.
Other Indian institutions in the top league included IIM Calcutta, which improved its position from 76 to 68, and the Indian School of Business in the 78th position, showing a significant rise from last year's 92.
Globally, for the third consecutive year, Stanford GSB's full-time MBA was named the world's number one, followed by Harvard Business School and The Wharton School.
Rajasthan Governor Appoints new VCs to Eight Universities for 3-year Term
Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra issued orders for the appointment of vice chancellors to eight universities in consultation with the state government.
Some of the newly appointed vice chancellors are, Dr. Abhay Kumar Vyas was appointed the vice chancellor of Agriculture University, Kota; Prof Bagda Ram Choudhary of Agricultural University, Jodhpur; and Dr. Arun Kumar of Swami Kesavanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner.
All the eight vice chancellors were appointed for a term of three years or till they attain the age of 70, whichever is earlier.
Six UK Institutions Partner with Jindal University for Overseas Education

ICCR Collaborates with Google for Global Promotion of Sanskrit
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) announced a collaboration with Google to promote Sanskrit.
ICCR and Google had earlier signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance the tech giant's artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) language technology for translating Sanskrit literature to many other languages and vice-versa.
Google received 100,000 sentence pairs from ICCR as part of the project's pilot phase in order to form its AI/ML models. The Sanskrit team from the University of Delhi, comprising academics, students and teachers, was led by professor Amarjiva Lochan.

IIT Gandhinagar, SERB Host a National Conclave on Women in Science and Technology
The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), the Government of India and the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) organised a national conclave on "Women in Science & Technology: Fostering Innovation" for women researchers, scientists and engineers.
The event aimed to encourage women working in science, technology, and engineering fields to translate their innovative ideas into technology, instil the spirit of entrepreneurship in the participants, and facilitate discussions about translational research and its challenges.
More than 150 women scientists, researchers, engineers, students, and postdoctoral fellows from industry and academia across the country participated in the conclave. All those participants were recipients of SERB grants and fellowships and work on diverse research projects.
