In the first export order for the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system, Philippines approved a $374.96 million contract for the purchase of shore based anti-ship variant of the missile from India, while discussions are ongoing with few other South East Asian counties. Secretary of National Defence of Philippines, Delfin Lorenzana signed the 'Notice of award' for the purchase, the contract for which is expected to be signed very soon.
The BrahMos is a medium-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarine, ships, aircraft or land. It is notably one of the fastest supersonic cruise missiles in the world. It is a joint venture between the Russian Federation's NPO Mashinostroyeniya and India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

Russia: White Swan Strategic Missile Bomber
The Russian defence forces unveiled a new Tupolev Tu-160M. It is a missile bomber. It is also known as "White Swan".
The White Swan can fly at an altitude of 600 metres. The bomber has been designed to carry nuclear war heads. It is one of the heaviest supersonic miliary aircraft.
The White Swan was unveiled while Russia – NATO tensions are at the peak due to Ukraine crisis.
It can carry 34 tonnes of load. The bomber can deliver 24 cruise missiles. It can trace 14,000 km without refuelling.
The machine can be in the sky for more than a day during combat duties.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight tested the Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM). The anti-tank missile was flight-tested in its final deliverable configuration.
The indigenously developed MPATGM is a low weight, fire and forget missile.
The missile impacted the designated target and destroyed it. The final impact event was captured on camera and the test has validated the minimum range successfully.
The missile has a range of 2.5 km.

India Successfully Test Fires BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile
India successfully test fired BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from Indian Navy destroyer INS Vishakhapatnam off the Western coast. The sea to sea variant of the missile was test fired at the maximum range and hit the target ship with pinpoint accuracy.

Lt. Gen. Sengupta Takes over as Leh-based 14 Corps Commander
As India and China attempt to work out dates for the 14th round of Corps Commander level talks, the Army's Leh-based 14 Corps saw a change of guard as Lt. Gen. Anindya Sengupta took over as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Fire and Fury Corps, replacing Lt. Gen. P.G.K. Menon, who led the last few rounds of talks from the Indian side.
Lt. Gen. Sengupta was part of the Indian delegation during the 13th round of talks with China which ended in a stalemate, with both sides exchanging sharp statements on the outcome.
Prior to taking over this appointment, Lt. Gen. Sengupta was Director General, Strategic Planning, at the Army Headquarters in New Delhi.
