In order to spread awareness about psychological impact of lockdown and measures to be adopted to overcome them, Department of Information and Public Relations, J&K has started an initiative 'SUKOON' - COVID-19 Beat the Stress".
The programme will be telecast on Doordarshan Kashir Channel every Tuesday at 9.00 PM during which psychiatrists, eminent doctors and scientists will share their knowledge on psychological health and how to keep the mind anxiety free and the measures which people can adopt to keep stress level under control.
The aim is to ensure that people stay mentally fit and cope with the fears related to COVID-19 with a sound mind.
Centre Launches Scheme to Solarise Entire Konark Temple, Konark Town
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy said the central government has launched a scheme for solarisation of Konark Sun Temple and Konark town in Odisha.
The Government of India has launched scheme for 100 per cent solarisation of Konark sun temple and Konark town.
The scheme envisages a 10-megawatt (MW) grid-connected solar project and various solar off-grid applications such as solar trees and solar drinking water kiosks.
The MNRE has taken up the complete solarisation of Konark Sun Temple and Konark town in Odisha.
''Tatpar'' Scheme in Ranchi to Transport Migrant Workers
Over 140 migrant workers were sent to their native places on buses, a day after the ''Tatpar'' programme was launched by the Ranchi district administration to ease their tiresome journey on foot.
Under the programme, officials collect information about those walking on national highways or on any other road to provide them transport facilities.
Nodal Officer Sanjay Kumar made rounds on the Ring Road on the outskirts of the city and spotted the migrant workers, brought them to the Khadgada bus stand from where they were sent home.
They were given masks and food packets.
The administration also launched a helpline -- 1950 -- for the migrant workers to facilitate arranging of buses.
Cabinet Approves Rs 3 lakh cr Emergency Credit Line for MSME; Loans at 9.25% Rate
The Union Cabinet approved additional funding of up to Rs 3 lakh crore at a concessional rate of 9.25 per cent through the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) for the MSME sector hit hard by the coronavirus crisis.
Under the scheme, 100 per cent guarantee coverage will be provided by National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC) for additional funding of up to Rs 3 lakh crore to eligible MSMEs and interested MUDRA borrowers, in the form of a guaranteed emergency credit line (GECL) facility.

Mee Annapurna Programe Launched for Farmers in Maharashtra
Mee Annapurna, an inclusive programe has been launched for the welfare of farmers and Bhoomiputras in Maharashtra.
The initiative was announced by Integrated Risk Insurance, an IRDA Licensed insurance intermediary.
Mee Annapurna will integrate three critical aspects of livelihood and comprehensive engagement. Elaborating on the scheme, Dr JH Rusat from Integrated Risk Insurance stated that the 'Mee Annapurna' programme involves three commandments - Expertise, Engagement and Entitlement.
The programme is a part of the organisation's commitment as a Corporate Social Responsibility towards the welfare of the farmers and agriculture community in Maharashtra.

NTA Launches 'National Abhyas App' for JEE Main and NEET Aspirants
An artificial intelligence-powered mobile app 'National Test Abhyas' developed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) was launched.
The objective of the mobile app is to enable candidates to take mock tests for upcoming exams such as JEE (Main), NEET 2020 under the NTA's purview.
The app has been launched to facilitate candidates' access to high quality mock tests.

Punjab Government today promulgated 'The Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Amendment Ordinance, 2020'.
As per new provisions, the temporary release of the prisoners has been allowed beyond the maximum period of 16 weeks in a calendar year.
Disclosing this at Chandigarh, Cooperation and Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that the step has been taken in view of containing the spread of COVID-19, with the intention to decongest the jails.

Madhya Pradesh Launches Charan Paduka Initiative
In Madhya Pradesh, in a first of its kind of initiative, Charan Paduka (चरण पादुका) campaign has been started for the migrant labourers passing through the state.
Under this campaign, the migrant labourers going barefoot are being providing shoes and slippers to reduce their pain.
The most notable thing is that this campaign is being conducted by the police at most places.
The Charan Paduka campaign started from the Rau Police Station of Indore.

'PM eVIDYA' for Digital Education, Manodarpan for Psychological Counselling to be Launched
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that 'PM eVIDYA' programme for multi-mode access to digital education will be launched immediately and that 100 universities will be permitted to start online courses by May 30, 2020.
'PM eVIDYA' programme will consist of 'Diksha' involving e-content and QR coded energized textbooks for all grades and will be called as 'one nation, one digital platform'.
Besides this, one earmarked TV channel per class from 1 to 12, also named as 'one class, one channel', will also be rolled out.
It will also envisage extensive use of radio, community radio and podcasts and special e-content for visually and hearing impaired.

Govt Opens Space Sector for Private Players
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced giving the private sector a role in India's space programme, including in satellites, launches and space-based services.
For boosting private participation in space activities, government will provide level playing field for private companies in satellites, launches and space-based services.
Private sector will be allowed to use ISRO facilities and other relevant assets to improve their capacities.
Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana Completes 4 Years of Success
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana was launched in May 2016. The scheme has successfully completed four years of its implementation.
The scheme has so far helped more than 8 crore families. Around Rs 8,432 crores have been transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) under the scheme.
In order to mark the success, on May 16, 2020, Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan interacted with 1500 beneficiaries.

The Centre will rationalise stamp duty in mining sector, eliminate the difference between captive and non-captive mines, introduce seamless composite exploration-cum-mining-cum-production regime and auction 500 mining blocks.
The introduction of a seamless composite exploration-cum-mining-cum-production regime will bring many more mineral blocks into auction.
The blocks having potential for mineral production will be auctioned for composite licence wherein the successful bidder will complete the exploration and start production seamlessly.
FM Raises Viability Gap Funding for Social Infra Projects
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a hike in viability gap funding (VGF) for development of social infrastructure.
In her fourth tranche of economic stimulus, she said Rs 8,100 crore will be provided as viability gap funding for development of social infrastructure.
She said social infrastructure projects suffer from poor viability. Therefore, the government will enhance the quantum of viability gap funding up to 30 per cent each of the total project cost as VGF by central and state/statutory bodies.
