Tibetan Government in Exile Celebrates 59th Democracy Day

The Tibetan government in exile celebrated its 59th Democracy Day at the McLeodganj monastery in Dharamsala.
The function was presided over by the Himachal Pradesh Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning, Sarveen Chaudhary.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said Tibetans had a strong democracy and steps had been taken by their religious leader Dalai Lama to strengthen it further.

3 September - Skyscraper Day

The construction of tall buildings has become so commonplace in cities around the globe that the general public gives little thought to the visionaries responsible for creating a city's unique skyline. Skyscraper day provides the opportunity to learn more about the architects who commit a dream to paper and the construction crews that make it reality.
Whoever it was that first considered placing dwellings on top of each other instead of side-by-side would be astounded at how modern buildings literally seem to touch the sky.
Celebrate this unofficial holiday by climbing or taking the lift up a skyscraper and by acknowledging the architectural and engineering feats that make such buildings possible.

NATIONAL V-J DAY

On September 2nd, National V-J Day (Victory over Japan Day) recognizes Allied Forces' victory over Japan during World War II. Officials announced the surrender of Japan to the Allies on August 15, 1945. The official signing of surrender took place on September 2, 1945, officially ending World War II.
Between 50 to 80 million lives were lost during World War II. These numbers include both military and civilian lives. Fought on every continent except Antarctica, the war consumed entire cities. More than 50 countries took up arms. Even those who maintained isolationist stances held sympathies for one side or another.
Six-years of sacrifice and horrors preceded this moment. All around the world, celebrations erupted. However, there would be years of reconciliations, discoveries, and coming to terms with the damage done to relations and humanity.

2nd September - World Coconut Day

World Coconut Day is observed on 2nd September every year to make people aware about the importance of this crop in poverty reduction. This day also commemorate the formation day of Asian Pacific Coconut Community (APCC).

1st September - National Nutrition Week

National Nutrition Week is observed from 1st September to 7th September to provide knowledge among people about the importance of Nutrition and its importance for the human body, for better health.
National Nutrition Week was initiated in March 1973 by the members of the American Dietetic Association (now the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) to deliver the nutrition education message to the public while promoting the profession of dietetics.
In 1980 public showed great response towards it and the week long celebration expanded to become a month-long observance
It is observed every year make people aware about the importance of nutrition for the Human Body and well being of health.
People should include a healthy diet in their daily routine like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, fat-free milk etc. with full of nutrition which not only helps in growth but also make immune system strong.

September Month To Be Celebrated As 'Rashtriya Poshan Maah'

The entire month of September will be celebrated as the Rashtriya Poshan Maah. This year the theme is 'Complementary Feeding'.
Prime Minister's Overreaching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment - POSHAN Abhiyaan is a multi- ministerial convergence mission with the vision to address malnutrition with a targeted approach by 2022.
Speaking about malnutrition in his Mann ki Baat programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, due to lack of awareness, both poor and affluent families are affected by it.
Earlier, Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani had appealed to the stakeholders including Anganwadi workers to reach out to every household on the importance of nutrition in children.

PM Modi Extends His Greetings On Prakash Purab Of Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his greetings on the auspicious occasion of Prakash Purab of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Guru Granth Sahib Ji teaches us values of harmony, compassion and brotherhood.
He said, its rich teachings inspire people across the world.

Warsaw to Mark 80 Years after WWII Outbreak

Poland would mark 80 years (on September 1, 2019) since the outbreak of World War II with commemorations attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the only major leader expected after US President Donald Trump pulled out to focus on Hurricane Dorian.
The Polish presidency expects around 40 foreign delegations, half of them led by heads of state.

Rajnath Inaugurates Ladakhi-Kisan-Jawan-Vigyan Mela In Leh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 26th Mela of Ladakhi-Kisan-Jawan-Vigyan Mela.
The mela was organised by the Leh-based Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) of DRDO, which was established in 1960 to meet the fresh food requirement of the soldiers deployed in the harsh terrain of Ladakh.
Gyal Phunchok Wangyal, Chief Executive Counselor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), and Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal amongst others were also present there.
