Coastal Cleanup Day

Coastal Cleanup Day was established by the Ocean Conservancy, an organization on September 21 that work to help protect the ocean from the challenges it faces every year.
They serve as a voice for the ocean, speaking of the issues that aren't often represented through social networking, publicized updates, and challenges like asking your waitress to skip the straw for your drink.
Efforts like that work towards a trash-free ocean.

India To Mark Mahatma Gandhi's 150th Birth Anniversary In Netherlands With Gandhi March

A number of public awareness events, including a Gandhi March for non-violence, will be held in the Netherlands to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The celebrations will commence with a cycling rally on September 29, 2019 to spread awareness about the Gandhian philosophy of simplicity and sustainability, officials said
The events — which also includes a cycling rally, an exhibition on the life of Mahatma Gandhi, a commemoration meeting, events surrounding the four Gandhi statues in the country and a school outreach programme — are being organised by the Indian Embassy in cooperation with the Gandhi Non-Violence Foundation and other groups.

World Rose Day 2019

Every year September 22 is observed as World Rose Day. This day, celebrated in the memory of 12-year-old Melinda Rose from Canada, aims at introducing sparks of happiness into the lives of people who are fighting cancer.
Like every year, in 2019 too, people are rolling out all sorts of comments on different social media platforms – especially Twitter - to show their support to cancer patients.

Daughters' Day 2019 - 22 Sept

September 22, 2019 marked Daughters' Day in India. Usually this day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of September.
Just like celebrations are held to celebrate the value and importance of fathers and mothers via Fathers' Day and Mothers' Day, Daughters' Day is a celebration of daughters, and the gift they are to their families and those around them, be it friends, teachers, distant relatives, the list goes on.

International Day Of Peace 2019

United Nations International Day of Peace recognises the efforts of those people who have worked hard to end the conflicts and promote peace. It is also a day of ceasefire, personal or political. This day focuses on building peaceful and sustainable world.
The theme of International Day of Peace 2019 is 'Climate Action for Peace'.
The theme focuses on the need of combating climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world.
According to UN, climate change causes clear threats to international peace and security.
Due to natural disasters millions of people are forced to leave their homes and seek safety. Food security is also hampered by the salinization of water and crops which on the other hand impact public health.
If we want to achieve peace, than it is necessary to take an action to combat climate change.

World Alzheimer's Day

September 21 every year is observed as World Alzheimer's Day while the whole month is dedicated to bringing awareness about Alzheimer's and other dementia conditions that over 50 million people worldwide suffer.
According to ALZ or Alzheimer's Disease International, a new dementia case is registered every 3.2 seconds totalling up to 9.9 million cases worldwide per year.

55th ITEC Day Celebrated In Dhaka

The 55th Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day was celebrated at the High Commission of India in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Around 300 ITEC alumni from all walks of life, attended the programme.
Over 4,000 young Bangladeshi professionals have undergone specialized short and medium term courses in India under the ITEC programme since 2007.
ITEC offers opportunities to participants to avail short and medium term courses in premier institutions like IITs and IISCs in India.
It was instituted in 1964 as part of India's Development Assistance offering for developing countries.

World Bamboo Day Celebrated In Imphal

The Bamboo Forum of India celebrated World Bamboo Day under the theme 'Bamboo for sustainable development goals' at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound.
Lok Sabha MP RK Ranjan, Deputy Chairman Planning and Chairman MHHDC S Rajen Singh, Former President WBO and CF, SABF Kamesh Salam and Chairperson Manipur State Minorities Commission Anwar Hussain amongst others were seen at the event.
The World Bamboo Day was first celebrated on September 18, 2009, at Prachan Buri, Thailand during the World Bamboo Congress in Bangkok. It is observed every year to increase awareness of bamboo globally to protect natural resources and the environment.
The main aim behind the celebration is to ensure sustainable utilization and promote the cultivation of bamboo for industries in regions around the world, as well as promote its usage locally for community economic development.

19 September - International Talk Like a Pirate Day

International Talk Like a Pirate Day is a parodic holiday created in 1995 by John Baur and Mark Summers, of Albany, Oregon, U.S., who proclaimed September 19 each year as the day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate.
An observer of this holiday would greet friends not with "Hello, everyone!" but with "Ahoy, maties!" or "Ahoy, me hearties!".
The holiday, and its observance, springs from a romanticized view of the Golden Age of Piracy.

WAWE summit

Human Resource Development Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank praised Waste Management Accelerator for Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs (WAWE) summit initiative stating that it will empower women and encourage entrepreneurship among youngsters.
The initiatives included 'Margadarshan and Margadarshak', 'Model Curriculum for Diploma Courses', 'WAWE Summit 2019' and '360-degree Feedback of Faculty'.

World Patient Safety Day: September 17, 2019

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared September 17, 2019 as the first World Patient Safety Day.
Globally, 134 million adverse events contribute to 2.6 million deaths each year due to unsafe care. At 28,000 deaths per year in Canada, patient harm ranks third in mortality after cancer and heart disease.
The slogan for the day is "Speak Up for Patient Safety".
This campaign will mobilize patients and their families, health workers, policy makers, academicians, researchers, professional networks and the healthcare industry to speak up.

38th Sharjah Intl. Book Fair to be organized

The 38th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) will be organized from 30th October to 9th November, 2019, where authors, publishers, intellectuals and artists worldwide will bring their experiences and expertise to this prominent event and partake in a vibrant cultural programme.
UNESCO has named Sharjah as the World Book Capital City for the year 2019 in recognition of the city's continuous efforts in promoting books and literacy.
Aligning itself with the title of the World Book Capital, the SIBF will be organized under the theme 'Open Books, Open Minds'.
Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) Chairman Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, in a statement said that it will be an exceptional edition of the book fair, where the events and discussions will all shine a spotlight on the book's ability to ignite peoples' minds, appreciate cultural differences and bring them closer.
