Kisan Divas (Farmer's Day in India)

The National Farmers Day in India is also known as Kisan Divas in Hindi. Farmer's Day is celebrated every year on 23rd December, on the birthday of the 5th Prime Minister of India, Choudhary Charan Singh, also a farmer's leader, who introduced many policies to improve the lives of the Indian farmers. It is celebrated by organising various programs, debates, seminars, quiz competitions, discussions, workshops, exhibitions, essays writing competitions and functions.
Farmers are the backbone of society and majorly contribute to the economic development of India. Thus, this day is dedicated to all the farmers of India to increase their enthusiasm and also to generate eminent respect in the citizens of the country. They grow food even after facing the utmost difficulties and burnt their skin to feed us keeping them wretched and backward. So, they should be helped and appreciated at the same time.

National Mathematics Day

National Mathematics Day is celebrated on 22nd December every year to mark the birth anniversary of legendary Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan and his contributions in the field of mathematics.
The main objective behind the celebration is to raise awareness among people about the importance of mathematics for the development of humanity. On this day, training is also provided to mathematics teachers and students through camps and highlights the development, production, and dissemination of teaching-learning materials (TLM) for Mathematics and research in related areas.
NASI (The National Academy of Science India) is the oldest science academy situated in Allahabad. To celebrate National Mathematics Day, NASI conducts a workshop in applications of Mathematics and Ramanujan. The workshop is attended by popular lecturers and experts in the field of mathematics from across the nation.

International Human Solidarity Day

Solidarity is identified in the Millennium Declaration as one of the fundamental values of international relations in the 21st Century, wherein those, who either suffer or benefit least deserve help from those who benefit most. Consequently, in the context of globalization and the challenge of growing inequality, strengthening of international solidarity is indispensable.
Therefore, the UN General Assembly, convinced that the promotion of the culture of solidarity and the spirit of sharing is important for combating poverty, proclaimed 20 of December as International Human Solidarity Day.
Through initiatives such as the establishment of the World Solidarity Fund to eradicate poverty and the proclamation of International Human Solidarity Day, the concept of solidarity was promoted as crucial in the fight against poverty and in the involvement of all relevant stakeholders.
International Human Solidarity Day is:

• A day to celebrate our unity in diversity.
• A day to remind governments to respect their commitments to international agreements.
• A day to raise public awareness of the importance of solidarity.
• A day to encourage debate on the ways to promote solidarity for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals including poverty eradication.
• A day of action to encourage new initiatives for poverty eradication.

Goa's Liberation Day

India got independence on 15 August 1947, but Goa became part of India after 14 years. It was the day of December 19, 1961 when Goa was liberated from the Portuguese, so December 19, is celebrated as Goa Liberation Day. However, Goa celebrates its foundation day on May 30 because on this day, May 30, 1987, Goa got full state status.
Goa is known all over the world for its beautiful beaches, night life, water sports, foods, etc. But Goa was previously a colony of Portugal. The Portuguese ruled Goa for about 450 years and in December 1961 it was handed over to the Indian administration.

Sixteenth Ryan International Children's Festival

Ryan International Group of Institutions hosted the 16th Ryan International Children's Festival from 13th to 17th December 2019 at Talkatora Stadium and National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi. There were over 300 performances on the theme 'Generation Equal'. The aim of the festival was to empower children to overcome gender prejudices and celebrate a generation of equals.
Over 15,000 students from over 20 countries like Russia, Germany, Czech Republic, Paraguay, Poland, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, India, Iran, Latvia, Lithuania, Morocco, Slovenia Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Thailand participated.
This year (2019) the spotlight was on gender equality and stereotypes that exist in societies around the world.

Minorities Rights Day (India)

Minorities Rights Day in India is observed on 18th December every year to remind us about the rights of minorities and to educate people about it.
The United Nations, on 18th December 1992, promulgated the "Declaration on the Rights of Persons belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities" to discourage the countries to discriminate amongst people worldwide on the basis of religion, language, nationality or ethnicity.

International Migrants Day

On 18 December 1990, the General Assembly adopted a resolution on the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families.
Each year on December 18, the United Nations, through the UN-related agency International Organization for Migration (UN Migration), uses International Migrants Day to highlight the contributions made by migrants, including internally displaced persons, (IDPs) and the challenges they face.
