India to host SCO Heads Of Govt Meeting

The 19th council of heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) will be hosted by India later this year (2020). This would be the first high-level meeting of the SCO that would be organised here since India's admission to the eight-member grouping.
The economic and security bloc which initially comprised of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, included India and Pakistan in 2017. India took over the presidency of the heads of government' meeting last year and it was announced in the 18th meeting of the SCO's Council of heads of government-held in Tashkent in 2019.

World Future Energy Summit 2020 Begins in Abu Dhabi

The 13th edition of the World Future Energy Summit was inaugurated in Abu Dhabi on January 13, 2020 by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The four-day summit is expected to see nearly 33,500 visitors. It will conclude on January 16.
As a part of the event, the Climate Innovations Exchange (CLIX) and the Future Sustainability Summit will also be conducted.
The Future Sustainability Summit is being held under the theme "Rethinking Global Consumption, Production, and Investment."

Armed Forces Veterans Day

14th January is being observed as Armed Forces Veterans Day as a mark of recognition and respect of the services rendered by the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, Field Marshal KM Cariappa. The day acknowledges and honors the sacrifice of our military veterans who have served the nation with selfless devotion. The day was first observed in 2017, this year marks the 4th Armed Forces Veterans Day of India. From all three services, Veteran officers and Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) along with three-star officers will pay to attend a homage ceremony at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. Later in the afternoon, the Chiefs of Army, Air force and Navy will be attending a Veterans Day function at the Manekshaw Centre located in the Delhi.

LOHRI DAY IS CELEBRATED ON 13 JANUARY

Lohri day is celebrated on 13 January every year in India. Lohri is termed as the festival of farmers in Northern India. It is observed a night before Makar Sankranti.
Celebration:
♦ The harvest festival is majorly celebrated in the North of India.
♦ During the festival, the people offer prayers to the Sun God, Mother Earth, the fire and the fields for prosperity, health, and a good harvest.
♦ They offer peanuts, gur ki Rewari, and makhana to the bonfire
♦ People dance while singing popular folk songs.

Workshop-Cum-Exhibition On "Bamboo- a Wonder Grass" Concludes In Jammu

The deliberations of the two-day workshop-cum-exhibition on Bamboo with the aim of creating opportunities for the sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir concluded at Jammu. The workshop-cum-exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, North Eastern Council, Govt. of India and Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir through Cane and Bamboo Technology Center (CBTC), Guwahati, Assam and the Department of Social Forestry, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir.

National Youth Festival 2020 Begins At Lucknow In Uttar Pradesh

On the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, 23rd National Youth Festival 2020 started with a grand inauguration ceremony in Lucknow. In his video message to the youth gathered here from different parts of countrty Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed youth of country to try only to purchase local products By 2020 which will help our countrymen.
Emphasising the importance of Youth of the country Prime Minister said that the same approach of today's youth to take challenge is the policy of our government also and it can be seen in the decisions like scrapping Article 370, CAA and Ram Temple issue.

National Youth Day (India)

National Youth Day is celebrated on 12 January being the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day and since from 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year. It was a decision of Government of India taken in 1984 to celebrate the birthday of great Swami Vivekananda, i.e. 12 January, as National Youth Day every year. The Government of India quoted that ' the philosophy of Swamiji and the ideals for which he lived and worked could be a great source of inspiration for the Indian Youth Day.

India Pulses And Grains Association Announces 'The Pulses Conclave 2020'

India Pulses and Grains Association (IPGA), the nodal body for India's pulses trade and industry today announced that the fifth edition 'The Pulses Conclave', their biennial global pulses conference will be held from Feb. 12th to 14th, 2020 at Amby Valley City in Lonavala, Maharashtra.
IPGA expects close to 1500 trade stakeholders from India and key pulses exporting countries like the USA, Australia, Canada, Myanmar, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi, etc. to participate in 'The Pulses Conclave 2020' (TPC 2020). The Pulses Conclave 2020, as a part of its agenda, will not just discuss increasing domestic production and consumption but will also bring to fore other areas of the trade like improving processing efficiencies, increasing consumption, exports, value addition, protein extraction, post-harvest crop management, etc.

Wings India 2020 To Be Held In Hyderabad From March 12-15

Wings India 2020, an international exhibition and conference on civil aviation sector, will be held at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad from March 12 to 15.
At a curtain raiser event here, Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri sought active participation from the stakeholders for the same. Pursuant to the success of Wings 2019, MOCA and FICCI is organising WINGS India 2020, "providing a congenial forum catering to the rapidly changing dynamics of the sector, focusing on new business acquisition, investments, policy formation and regional connectivity."
