India, US Hold 21st Military Cooperation Meeting in Delhi
The 21st edition of India-US Military Cooperation Group (MCG) meeting was held in New Delhi.
The meeting was co-chaired from the Indian side by Lt Gen J.P. Mathew, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC) and Lt Gen Joshua M. Rudd, Deputy Commander (USINDOPACOM).
The discussions in the meeting focused on new initiatives under the ambit of existing bilateral defence cooperation mechanisms.
Indian Navy Hosts 3rd Mahasagar Summit on Maritime Security
The Indian Navy successfully conducted the third edition of the Mahasagar summit, continuing its flagship outreach initiative for maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Held virtually under the theme, "Training Cooperation to Mitigate Common Maritime Security Challenges in the IOR," the summit brought together senior leaders from 10 countries and discussed collaborative efforts to tackle shared maritime threats. The 10 countries which participated in the event are: Bangladesh, Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Sri Lanka and Tanzania.
Launched in 2003, Mahasagar is a bi-annual event aimed at fostering cooperation among maritime heads in the IOR. It has become an essential platform for discussing maritime security challenges, strengthening partnerships, and developing training programs to build regional capabilities. The event underscores India's commitment to the vision of "Active Security and Growth for All in the Region" (ASGAR).

The two-day exhibition aimed to showcase cutting-edge technologies, and foster collaboration between the Indian Army and the nation's defence manufacturing sector, including MSMEs, DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), DPSUs (defence public sector undertakings), research and development organisations and academia.
The event provided a vital platform to Indian manufacturers and start-ups to showcase the latest advancements in defence technologies.

India-Vietnam Joint Military Exercise in Haryana
A joint exercise by the militaries of India and Vietnam aimed at enhancing capabilities for deployment of engineering and medical teams to undertake tasks as part of a UN contingent in peacekeeping operations is underway in Haryana. The fifth edition of 'VINBAX 2024', which will conclude on November 23 at Ambala and Chandimandir, marks a significant increase in scope with bi-service level participation for the first time by personnel of the army and the air force from both countries.
The exercise is a sequel to the bilateral exercise in Vietnam in 2023 and a major milestone in strengthening the bilateral relations between India and Vietnam.
CDS General Chauhan Signs Key Defence Pact with Algeria
India and Algeria formalised their commitment to strengthening bilateral defence ties with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation. The agreement was signed by Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan and Said Chanegriha, the Chief of Staff of the Algerian People's National Army. This significant development occurred during Gen. Chauhan's official visit to Algeria from October 31 to November 3. The agreement represents a significant advancement in bilateral military cooperation and sets the stage for long-term collaboration across multiple sectors.

Indian Army's 15th Edition of Joint Special Forces Exercise VAJRA PRAHAR with US Army

Armenia Becomes India's Leading Defence Export Destination
Armenia emerged as India's leading destination for defence exports. In the fiscal year 2023-24 achieved a record in defence exports, totalling Rs. 21,083 crore (approximately $2.63 billion). This marked a 32.5% increase from the previous year. Rising security concerns in Eurasia have prompted Armenia to shift away from its historical reliance on Russian arms, seeking diversification and self-reliance in its defence strategy.
