Scientists have discovered that the chemical element ruthenium (Ru) is the fourth element to have unique magnetic properties at room temperature.
The discovery could be used to improve sensors, devices in the computer memory and logic industry, or other devices using magnetic materials.

Alien Asteroid Discovered
Scientist have discovered an asteroid named Oumuamua (or (514107) 2015BZ509) nesting in Jupiter's orbit that migrated from another star system. It makes it the first permanent immigration to our solar system.
Satellites GRACE-FO
SpaceX has successfully launched twin NASA satellites GRACE-FO (Follow-On) that will track Earth's water cycle, i.e. water movement and icemelt.
GRACE-FO is a joint project between Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and German Research for Geosciences (GFZ).

Fresh Flaw in Chips
Cyber security researchers have found a new security flaw that affects a broad swath of modern computing chips and is related to the Spectre and Meltdown chip flaws that emerged in January.
The newest chip problem, known as Speculative Store Bypass or "Variant 4" because it's in the same family as the original group of flaws, was disclosed by security researchers at Microsoft Corp and Alphabet Inc's Google.

China Launches Relay Satellite
China successfully launched a relay satellite early to set up a communication link between the Earth and a planned Chinese lunar exploration mission to explore the Moon's mysterious far side.
Named Queqiao (Magpie Bridge), the 400-kg satellite has a designed life of three years.
