Indian Scientists Discover Distant Planet

A team from the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, has spotted for the first time a distant planet six times bigger than Earth and revolving around a sun-like star about 600 light years away. Both the planet and the star have been named EPIC.

With this discovery India has joined a handful of countries which have discovered planets around stars.

EPIC 211945201b (or K2-236b) is the name given to the planet by the discovery team. The host star is named EPIC 211945201 or K2-236.

NASA Finds Curious New Pointers

NASA`s Curiosity rover has discovered tough organic molecules in three-billion-year-old sedimentary rocks near the surface of Mars -- a finding that suggests the planet could have supported ancient life.

It has also found seasonal variations in the levels of methane in the atmosphere, a discovery that has relation to the search for current life on the Red Planet.

Chennai-based app developer startup 'WapleStuff' is one of the winners of the Apple Design Awards 2018.

Announced at the ongoing WWDC 2018 developer conference, WapleStuff won the award for its calculator app called Calzy.

There are a total of 10 winners of the Apple Design Awards 2018.

Scientists claim to have found evidence of dunes of frozen methane on Pluto.

The findings come from analysis of the startling images sent back by Nasa's New Horizons mission, which flew close to Pluto in July 2015.

Scientists from the United Kingdom have successfully created the world's first 3D printed human corneas.

The cornea, the outermost layer of the human eye, is important in focusing vision.
