AWA ARUGEMENT MONARCH BOOKS

While it may be true that if monarch book open a cafe in a book store may they attaract more customer but in order to do that they have to see whether the opening of cafe effect customer or not in order to do this monarch book store board of directors should give valid facts in order to justify opening of cafe in a book store.

The first problem of the arugment is that the board of director stated that monarch book open the cafe because they are at a same location for twenty years that means location of store may effect i dont know whether they have a good location or not because in opening a cafe on a good location will defentiely effect that in arugment the author should have staed that rather stating that we are at that location for twenty years they must be satted that the monarch book store has a good amount of customer and there customer suggest that they should open a cafe in a book store.

The other problem is that they stated that the room for cafe will be made from discounting children section maybe there customer are only children in that case if there major amount of customer are children and than they are discounting the children section than the customer for there cafe will defenitely decrease instead of this they should have stated that the children section is not doing well from past that much time for that reason we are discunting the chid section.

other problem is the are discounting there children section because of census in census they have given that population under ten yeras siginfincant decarsed may be that census accroding to which they are making decesion may be valid should they relie on that or may be census will include that particular area where child population under ten years are less insted they must relie on a valid census to take any decsion depending on census they must have good source or reliable source on which they depend.

may be if they open a cafe in a book store attract more people they way they are stated but for this they may have given some good reason for that but the reason they have stated in a arugment doesnt support there idea as they decision is not taken under seeing the whole scenirio like location, children population.

Arctic deer live on islands in Canada’s arctic regions. They search for food by moving over ice from island to island during the course of year. Their habitat is limited to areas warm enough to sustain the plants on which they feed and cold enough, at least some of the year, for the ice to cover the sea separating the islands, allowing the deer to travel over it. Unfortunately according to reports from local hunters, the deer populations are declining. Since the reports coincide with recent global warming trends that have caused the sea ice to melt, we can conclude that the purported decline in deer populations is the result of the deer’s being unable to follow their age old migration patterns across the frozen sea.

The claim that ” the arctic deer population is declining because of global warming and in turn their inability to follow their age-old migration patterns across the frozen sea” has been made on the basis of reports from local hunters and recent global warming trends. On a casual reading the argument seems convincing but the closer scrutiny brings out certain loopholes in the argument. So it seems to be flawed in many places and therefore is non- convincing.
The conclusion has been drawn on the basis of evidence provided by the local hunters. So the conclusion on this basis has been reached in haste as the hunters themselves are responsible for the declining population of arctic deer. There have been no proper evidences, no strong facts or figures been provided which would convince the readers that the claim is right. Proper techniques and methodologies should be delineated for drawing the conclusion.
Furthermore, it cannot be stated that the population is dwindling because of global warming because with global warming the temperatures would rise and the area would become warm enough to sustain vegetation on which the deer feed. So they don’t need to migrate from one place to another in search of food. So this factor further reduces the strength of the argument and making it flimsy.
Also the reports have been compared with recent global warming trends as stated in the argument without any specification of the region of study. So there have been errors in the test method employed. Application of results of larger domain to a limited area is fallacious. So proper test method with due facts, sample quality and quantity should have been specified which would make the conclusion valid.
In the nutshell, it can be stated that the relation between the deer population and global warming is unsubstantiated. The decline in the deer population may be because of the local hunters, and the global warming will in-fact help the deer population as it would lead to less migrations in search of food. Had the above mentioned facts been provided, the argument would have been plausible.

Monarch books who have a well established business for books is recommended to open a cafe in its store to attract more number of customers and also to give healthy competition to its rival firm-Regal books. They propose the idea of constructing a cafe by closing the children's book collection . They think of discontinuing this section by considering the national census which indicates a decrease in the population under age 10.
I would oppose their decision of discontinuing the kids section as there could be a serious downfall in their business. It is because it might be only the kids or parents of the kids who are regular customers of their cafe to buy books for their kids. Once the main reason of the parents visiting the cafe eradicates there could be a downfall in the business in other sections of the books too as those parents may contribute a significant proportion of buying the other books too presnt in other sections, but now they prefer those book stores where there is a full collection of books for not only their kids but also have books ranging for their age group.
Moreover, the board of directors arrive at a decision of discarding the kids section due to a decrease in the percentage of population of children below age 10 as revealed by a recent national census, but the decline in percentage does not mean a decline in number. So a significant decline in the percentage does not mean that children in that age group have reduced in number rather it implies that though there is an increase in the number of people in that age group but the overall ratio has decreased. So relying only upon the percentage, decision should not be a taken for opening a cafe.
In addition to it, the presence of the cafe in the same area could turn out to be source of distraction for their focused customers who enjoy serene and calm ambience. Also the presence of a cafe may lead to an increase in garabage and litter around the area which could mar the reputation of the Monarch book store and therefore people could hesitate to visit there. Some people may only visit the cafe for leisure and pass time and dont have any penchant for reading books which could badly affect the core business of the store.
Apart from the above mentioned factors there are certain other factors which wekens the argument, like we are not known by the location of the Regal cafe . As it might be in an area where there is no other cafe around and that could be the core reason that why people were visting that cafe. Also the Regal books might be facing a loss in their business , so they switched on to this alteranate way of earning money to make both their ends meet.
So, despite of opening a cafe like Regal bookstore they should concentrate on increasing the quality of books provided by their store and should open up online facilities too in order to atract more number of cestomers and to turn their business more lucrative.
It is therefore concluded that the entire argument could not persuade many readers as it contains many weak evidences and lacks proper detail of each and every factor. Had the board of directors charterd all the above mentioned factors, then only t he argument could be analysed in a more better way.

In the given argument the author disscuses about a situation in the Balmer island where the moped accidents have increased. He says that during the summer months the population of the island increase manifolds therefore resulting in increase in the accidents involving pedestrians and mopeds. Taking this into account, he says that the moped rental companies should decrease the number of moped rentals to avoid accidents in the same way as the neighbouring island of Seaville's town did.
The author says that the population of the Balmer island increases by 1,00,000 in summer months, which in turn, causes crowd and hustle around the area, thereby, leading to increase in accidents. However, the relavent point to ask here is that, what exactly the size of the population of the island is. That is , if the size of the population is 1 million or more then an increase in just 1,00,000 of the population cant be held the reason for the increase in accidents. On the other hand, if the island is scarcely populated, say the population size is around 1,00,000 then also the increase in accidents cant be only due to the increse in population. Moreover , we are not provided with the size of the area of the island. So the author hereby, considers a false anology of relating the rate of increase of accidents with that of the increase in population.
Another point ,which makes the argument very flimsy and tenuous is the absence of the information that weather the roads present in the island is in a good condition or dilapidating . As roads if not present in a good condition can be a cause of the accidents. There could be many drink and drive cases for which only the traffic police of the area could be held responsible for not keeping a strict check over the violation of the rules by the people. There should be warning signs of speed limits in various areas. The traffic police should take up some strict measures to avoid accidents and the municipal corporation should build new roads if the roads are present in a very bad condition. Also a srtict check should be kept over the moped rental companies that they provide their customers with vehicles which are in a good condition.
The author supports his argument by saying that the council of Seavilles town has succeeded in reducing the number of accidents in their neighbouring island by decreasing the number of moped rentals without providing the exact number to which they have reduced.
Moreover, we are unaware of the geographical factors of both the islands and it would not be wise to compare them.
Therefore, the argument made by the author is not strong as he has not chartered the complete data about the kind of accidents, the condition of the roads, the condition of the vehicles, the criteria osereved in driving ,the strictness in the driving rules and the geographical factors of the area. If he would have taken all these factors into account then only the absolute truth could be unfolded from the argument.

In the given argument, the author compares the two real estates in its vicinity, those are, Adams Realty and Fitch Realty. Based on their respective estate agents, their revenue and their average selling prices of the houses , he concludes that Adams are a better option than Fitch to sell any house with a good price.
The author tells that Adams are superior than Fitch by saying that there are 40 agents working with them, whereas, Fitch has only 25 agents working many of whom work part-time. However, I would say that the number of employees working under an estate can't be matched with their efficfiency of working. It might be the fact that those 25 agents are more qualified and adept than the 40 agents in the Adams estate. The author also considers the average sales of home of both the estates , but, based on the average nothing can be concluded as we cant say that each and every house was being sold at the same high rate .
The author also sahres its own personal experiences of dealing with both the estates , but, his experience with them is based on a comparison which has a large time-lag of 10 years. In such a huge lapse of time, many things might have changed. What happened then would not necessarily happen now.
Moreover, he is comparing both these estates, with the sale of two different houses . It is possible that the house which the author listed with the Fitch Real Estate was situated in a remote area where there could have been a grave risk of being attacked by dangerous species, or, it was situated in an area which was far away from the city and a lot of problem could be faced in meeting the basic amenities and also could be less secure. Therefore, these could be the possible reasons that the house was being sold late as people would be reluctant to buy a house in such a locality. On the other hand, the house which he now listed with Adams, was sold rapidly as it could have situated in a very posh locality and a lot of customers were being attracted over there with a good price offering the seller.
So on the whole it can be said that the entire argument made by the author is weakened by taking into account the above mentioned facts. Moreover, it is unwise to draw conclusions by comparing the sales of two different Real Estates by listing them with different houses as they can vary in many factors , one of them being, the locality of where they are situated. Also the house can be varied on the basis of its maintainence. So the argument made by the author is unable to persuade many readers, as the evidences given by the author are not so strong.
