In the given argument, the author compares the two real estates in its vicinity, those are, Adams Realty and Fitch Realty. Based on their respective estate agents, their revenue and their average selling prices of the houses , he concludes that Adams are a better option than Fitch to sell any house with a good price.
The author tells that Adams are superior than Fitch by saying that there are 40 agents working with them, whereas, Fitch has only 25 agents working many of whom work part-time. However, I would say that the number of employees working under an estate can't be matched with their efficfiency of working. It might be the fact that those 25 agents are more qualified and adept than the 40 agents in the Adams estate. The author also considers the average sales of home of both the estates , but, based on the average nothing can be concluded as we cant say that each and every house was being sold at the same high rate .
The author also sahres its own personal experiences of dealing with both the estates , but, his experience with them is based on a comparison which has a large time-lag of 10 years. In such a huge lapse of time, many things might have changed. What happened then would not necessarily happen now.
Moreover, he is comparing both these estates, with the sale of two different houses . It is possible that the house which the author listed with the Fitch Real Estate was situated in a remote area where there could have been a grave risk of being attacked by dangerous species, or, it was situated in an area which was far away from the city and a lot of problem could be faced in meeting the basic amenities and also could be less secure. Therefore, these could be the possible reasons that the house was being sold late as people would be reluctant to buy a house in such a locality. On the other hand, the house which he now listed with Adams, was sold rapidly as it could have situated in a very posh locality and a lot of customers were being attracted over there with a good price offering the seller.
So on the whole it can be said that the entire argument made by the author is weakened by taking into account the above mentioned facts. Moreover, it is unwise to draw conclusions by comparing the sales of two different Real Estates by listing them with different houses as they can vary in many factors , one of them being, the locality of where they are situated. Also the house can be varied on the basis of its maintainence. So the argument made by the author is unable to persuade many readers, as the evidences given by the author are not so strong.
