Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for 2022 and 2023

Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, conferred 82 young artists with Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puruskar for the Years 2022 and 2023 at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Sandhya Purecha, Chairman of Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Smt. Uma Nanduri, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture.
Sangeet Natak Akademi instituted the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (UBKUP) in the name of Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan for young performing art practitioners up to the age of 40 years in 2006. The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar is given annually to outstanding young artists in the fields of music, dance, drama, folk & tribal arts and puppetry in a special ceremony held in Delhi and also outside Delhi. The Yuva Puraskar carries a purse money of Rs. 25,000, a plaque and an angavastram.

Coal India Ltd Receives Green World Award 2024 in London

Coal India Limited (CIL) under the aegis of the Ministry of Coal, was conferred with the esteemed Green World Environment Award in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) category along with the distinguished tile of Green World Ambassador, in London. Ministry of Coal has overall responsibility of determining policies and strategies in respect of mining of coal and other minerals in large interest of the country.
This prestigious international award was given to CIL for exemplary work in the field of CSR i.e Thalassemia Bal Sewa Yojna for permanent curative treatment of more than 600 Thalassemia patients through stem cell transplant also known as Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT).
CIL, in 2017 became the first Public Sector Undertakings to take up the CSR project for curative treatment of Thalassemia through BMT operations across the country.

Afghanistan Teen Nila Ibrahimi Wins International Children's Peace Prize

Seventeen -year-old girl, Nila Ibrahimi who was not allowed to speak in public in her own country won a prestigious international award for advocating for the rights of Afghan girls.
Nila Ibrahimi won the International Children's Peace Prize, an award that has recognised luminaries including climate activist Greta Thunberg and girls' education campaigner Malala Yousafzai.
Ibrahimi received the honour for her 'courageous work to fight for the rights of girls' in Afghanistan, where women are being silenced by oppressive rules set by the Taliban, who seized power in 2021.
The International Children's Peace Prize is awarded annually to a child who has made a significant contribution to advocating children's rights and improving the situation of vulnerable children.
The first Children's Peace Prize was launched in November 2005 during the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Rome, an annual meeting of Nobel Peace Prize winners and international organisations such as UNICEF and Amnesty International.

Indira Gandhi Peace Prize 2023: Honouring Daniel Barenboim and Ali Abu Awwad

The Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament, and Development for 2023 was awarded to Daniel Barenboim, a world-famous pianist and conductor, and Ali Abu Awwad, a Palestinian peace activist. This prestigious award recognises their remarkable efforts to promote peace and non-violence.
Daniel Barenboim was honoured for using music to bring people together. His work shows how music can create understanding and harmony across cultures, even in areas with conflict.
Ali Abu Awwad was recognised for his peace work through his organization, Roots, which encourages dialogue between Palestinians and Israelis.
The Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament, and Development is an esteemed award that has been presented annually since 1986 by the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust.

Victoria Kjaer Theilvig Becomes Denmark's First Miss Universe

The 73rd Miss Universe pageant held in Mexico marked a historic milestone for Denmark as Victoria Kjaer Theilvig was crowned the nation's first-ever Miss Universe. The 21-year-old from Søborg outshone 125 participants, including India's Rhea Singha, and became a global sensation. With her blend of intelligence, elegance, and advocacy, Victoria made history and inspired millions worldwide.

PM Honored with "Grand Commander of the Order of Niger"

In a landmark event, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was conferred the prestigious national award, "Grand Commander of the Order of Niger", by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the State House. This honor celebrates Prime Minister Modi's visionary leadership, transformative governance, and significant contributions to fostering stronger India-Nigeria ties and the aspirations of the Global South.

RINL-VSP Bags 3 Prestigious Gold Awards at ICQCC-2024 held at Colombo

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), bagged three prestigious 'Gold Awards at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC-2024) held at Colombo, Sri Lanka. The International Convention was organised by the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP) at Colombo in hybrid mode. The three LQC (lean quality circle) teams from RINL, 'ARMOR' from SBM (Special Bar Mill), TARANGINP from QA&TD (Quality Assurance & Technology Development) and `SADHANA' from SMS-i(Steel Melt Shop-i) presented their case studies from Centre for HRD of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
The International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) - 2024 was hosted under the theme 'Beyond Boundaries: A Quest for Quality, Productivity & Innovation'.
