Tim Paine Announces Retirement from First-Class Cricket
Former Australia test cricket captain Tim Paine announced his retirement following the conclusion of Tasmania's Sheffield Shield first-class match against Queensland.
Wicketkeeper Paine captained Australia in 23 tests between early 2018 and 2021, playing 35 tests overall. He became Australia's 46th test skipper after Steve Smith had his captaincy stripped in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal on Australia's 2018 tour of South Africa.
Paine stood down from the captaincy in late 2021 after it was revealed he had sent explicit text messages to a former Cricket Tasmania employee.
Paine, who debuted against Pakistan at Lord's in 2010, averaged 32.63 in test matches with a top score of 92 and made 157 dismissals behind the stumps. He also played 35 one-day internationals for Australia.
PSPB Men and Women Start Favourites in TT Nationals
Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) will start favourites to retain the men's and women's team titles as well as singles crowns at the 84th Inter-State National Table Tennis Championships in Jammu.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, such has been the domination of the PSPB teams and its individual players over the years that it is almost impossible to breach their run.
PSPB men, who have dominated for a quarter of a century, would go for the 26th title, and it would be the same combination that achieved the feat in Shillong in 2023.

Rohan Bopanna-Matthew Ebden Clinch Men's Doubles Title at Indian Wells Masters
India's Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden won the Indian Wells Masters men's doubles title, defeating World No.1 Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 in the final.
The victory marks Bopanna and Ebden's first Masters 1000 title as a team, and their second in their first season as a pairing.
Indian veteran Bopanna, who turned 43 on March 4, 2023 became the oldest man to ever win a Masters 1000 doubles title, surpassing his former partner Daniel Nestor. He is also the first Indian man to claim the Indian Wells Masters doubles title since Leander Paes in 2007.

Rafael Nadal Signs up to Play at Monte Carlo Masters
The 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal signed up to compete in the Monte Carlo Masters, starting from April 8, 2023.
Nadal was absent from the courts since his Australian Open second round loss to American Mackenzie McDonald, where he aggravated a hip injury.
