Meenakshi Lekhi Launches Book on Sacrifice of Freedom Fighters
Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture Meenakshi Lekhi launched a book in Gujarati commemorating the contributions of freedom fighters at a function.
The book, 'Swadhinata Sangram Na Surviro', celebrates 75 freedom fighters and shares the stories of the sacrifices made by them for the country.
The book is a part of the "Swadhinta Ka Amrit Mahotsav" to mark the 75th year of the country's Independence.

A New Edition of Viswananthan Anand's Memoir 'Mind Master'
Hachette India announced the expanded paperback edition of five-time world chess champion Viswanathan Anand's widely acclaimed memoir "Mind Master: Winning Lessons from a Champion's Life". The book, featuring a bonus chapter on how to navigate uncertainty and rapidly changing realities in the wake of the pandemic, will hit the stands on July 15. It is written by Anand with author-journalist Susan Ninan.
In "Mind Master", Anand looks back at a lifetime of games played, opponents tackled and circumstances overcome and draws from its depths significant tools that will help every reader to navigate life's challenges. A Book Titled, 'The Life and Times of George Fernandes' by Rahul Ramagundam
A new biography of one of India's most firebrand union leaders and former Central minister George Fernandes will trace his journey from the streets of Bombay to the corridors of power in Delhi, announced the Penguin Random House India (PRHI). "The Life and Times of George Fernandes", written by Rahul Ramagundam, will be released under Penguin's 'Allen Lane' imprint on July 25.
Fernandes, born on June 3, 1930, in Mangalore to a Christian family, burst into national limelight when as a trade unionist in Mumbai he organised a Railways strike in 1974 that brought the country to a standstill. Fernandes died in January 2019 at the age of 88 after a prolonged illness.
He became the Railways Minister in 1989 under V. P. Singh's National Front coalition government, comprising mostly Left-leaning parties.
Fernandes emerged as a key figure in the fight to restore democracy after the Emergency was imposed in 1975 by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
