Visually Impaired IAF Veteran Turns Author

  • In a story of remarkable resilience, a former Indian Air Force (IAF) Corporal who was completely blinded after an injury in a military exercise, has not only come up with a book, but has also earned a doctorate degree.
  • Corporal Manoj Kumar (retd) presented to Army Chief Manoj Pande a copy of his latest book on Kashmir, 'Ghati Ko Grahan'.
  • Dr. Kumar completed his Masters in Hindi from IGNOU in 2010, cleared the UGC NET in 2012 and pursued his doctorate between 2015 and 2020. Twelve of his research papers have found a place in national and international journals. 'Ghati Ko Grahan' covers post-Independence events in Kashmir, including attacks by Pakistan-supported raiders, exodus of Kashmiri Pandits, and the Indo-Pak wars of 1947, 1965 and 1971.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Releases Book 'Rusty Skies & Golden Winds'

  • Union Minister of State (IC) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, launched a poetry book titled 'Rusty Skies and Golden Winds' written by 11 years old Sannidhya Sharma, student of class 7th. The book is published by Blue-Rose Publishers. The Union Minister lauded the efforts of the little author in crystallising his thoughts in the shape of a collection of his poems and his rare achievement at this tender age and wished him a bright future.
  • The 100 page book is an anthology of 40 poems in which the budding author defines the nature of the world, at the moment. He lets himself be carried away by the unknown force and eyes the blood on the paper bravely. Throughout the book, the author wishes for a gust of golden winds, and sends his soul on an adventure to discover all those shallow thoughts buried in the soils of time as he lifelessly stares into the rusty skies of dust.

Biography of President Murmu to Release Later this Year

  • A biography of Droupadi Murmu, India's youngest President and the first to be born after Independence, will hit the stands by 2022 end.
  • Touted to be the first authentic and definitive account of India's 15th President, "Madam President: A Biography of Draupadi Murmu" claims to unpack the many trials and tribulations, and early years of struggle that elevated the 64-year-old to the highest office in the country.
  • It is written by Bhubaneswar-based senior journalist Sandeep Sahu.

A Book Titled "Lion of The Skies: Hardit Singh Malik" by Stephen Barker

  • A book titled "Lion of the Skies: Hardit Singh Malik, the Royal Air Force and the First World War" is all about an "India's first fighter pilot" who participated in the World War, long before the Indian Air Force was born. The book has been written by author Stephen Barker, who describes in great detail, how challenging it was for an Indian to serve in the British armed forces, fighting racial discrimination – both institutional and interpersonal.
  • During the First World War, Hardit Singh Malik served as a fighter pilot for both Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and the Royal Air Force (RAF) for fighting the Germans. He is also the first Indian Ambassador to France.

  • Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik released a book titled 'Lockdown Lyrics', a collection of poems written by Sanjukta Dash. The poems are an unadulterated narration of the author's experiences and exasperations during the pandemic. She has reflected all the trauma & tribulations and hope and aspirations of humanity during this most critical journey of society in a long time.
  • Sanjukta Dash is a well-known name in Odia literature. She has three anthologies of poetries in Odia- Antaswar, Amrut Anwesha and Apekshare Ebe Bi. Lockdown Lyrics is her debut endeavour in English literature published by Authors Press New Delhi.
