India to Host Women's World Boxing Championship in 2023
India will host the women's world boxing championships in 2023 in New Delhi, two years after the country was stripped of the hosting rights of men's event for not paying the requisite fee to the global governing body. India has never conducted the men's world championship but it will be the third time that the elite women's competition will be held in the country having conducted the championships in 2006 and 2018 in New Delhi.
Uttar Pradesh to Host 2023 Khelo India University Games
The Uttar Pradesh government will be hosting the Khelo India National University Games in 2023-24 in four cities of the state. These cities are Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Noida.
According to Navneet Sehgal, additional chief secretary, sports, around 4,500 athletes, representing 150 universities across the country will be vying for top honours in 20 disciplines, including rowing, basketball, judo, kabaddi, wrestling, swimming, boxing, etc.
After Odisha and Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh has got the opportunity to host the National University Games for the first time.

Caroline Garcia Thumps Aryna Sabalenka in Summit Clash
France's Caroline Garcia thumped Belarus' Tennis star Aryna Sabalenka in the WTA Finals in a closely fought summit clash. Garcia edged past Sabalenka in straight sets in 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 to mark her brilliant return to professional tennis. With this win, the Frenchwoman has become the first from her country to lift the WTA title after Amélie Mauresmo achieved the feat in 2005. She is also the oldest to win a WTA title after Serena Williams lifted the trophy in 2014.

Viacom18 Sports announced a seven-year partnership with Cricket South Africa (CSA) for exclusive digital and TV rights for all international cricket, from 2024-2031.
As part of the association, Viacom18 will present all senior men's international and senior women's international competitions played in South Africa.
Viacom18's portfolio includes the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 starting November 20 through December 18. All matches will be exclusively aired live on JioCinema and pay-TV channels Sports18 - 1 SD & HD.

Kohli ICC Player of Month for October
Virat Kohli was named the ICC Men's Player of the Month for October following a series of stellar performances during India's charge to the T20 World Cup semi-finals in Australia.
Pakistan's veteran all-rounder Nida Dar won the honour in the women's category thanks to her sensational form in their Asia Cup campaign. Dar edged out the Indian duo of Jemimah Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma, who produced impressive displays in the same tournament which their side won.
Both Kohli and Dar were declared winners following a global vote conducted among media representatives, ICC Hall of Famers, former international players and registered fans.

Pramod Bhagat, Manisha Ramadass Bag Gold at Para-Badminton Worlds
Paralympic champion Pramod Bhagat and promising Manisha Ramadass emerged champions as India finished with a total of 16 medals at the BWF Para Badminton World Championships.
Taking the court first, Bhagat defended his men's singles SL3 title in style as he defeated compatriot Nitesh Kumar 21-19 21-19 in 53 minutes to clinch the gold medal.
Ramadass beat local star Mamiko Toyoda 21-15 21-15 in women's singles SU5 final.
Asian Hockey Federation CEO, Tayyab Ikram Elected as FIH President
Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) CEO Mohammad Tayyab Ikram of Macau was elected as the new president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), succeeding India's Narinder Batra as its full-time chief.
Ikram defeated Marc Coudron of Belgium 79-47 in the 48th FIH Congress held virtually.
Out of 129 national associations, 126 casted valid votes.
The duration of Ikram's term would be for two years, in order to complete the mandate of the previous chief, Batra, who resigned in July 2022.
Seif Ahmed was the acting president of the FIH following Batra's resignation from the top post after the Delhi High Court asked him to stop functioning as the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) chief.
Indian Men's Squash Team Wins Gold at 2022 Asian Team Championships
The Indian men's team, led by the seasoned Saurav Ghosal, clinched its first-ever gold at the Asian Squash Team Championships with a 2-0 win over Kuwait in the final at Cheongju International Squash Stadium in Cheongju, South Korea.
Star player Ghosal sealed the victory after Ramit Tandon gave India the lead with a fluent straight games win over Ali Aramezi (11-5, 11-7, 11-4). Ghosal then made short work of Ammar Altamimi 11-9, 11-2, 11-3 to give the team an unassailable lead. The third match between Abhay Singh and Falah Mohammad was not played as the tie had been decided following wins for Tandon and Ghosal.
The women's team settled for the bronze medal after losing 1-2 to Malaysia in the semi-final.
Kerala to Host Track Asia Cup 2022 Cycling Tournament
Kerala is set to host the Track Asia Cup 2022 Cycling Tournament. Track Asia Cup is one of the biggest cycling events and will be held at LNCPE Outdoor Velodrome from 25th November 2022 to 28th November 2022. In the Track Asia Cup 2022, around 200 cyclists will participate from over 25 countries in Asia. The event is being conducted outside Delhi for the first time.
Track Asia Cup is sanctioned by the Asian Cycling Confederation and Cycling Federation of India.
The Cycling Association of Kerala informed that due to extreme heat, efforts are being made to hold the matches under flood lights.
Cycling Giants including China, Korea, Japan, and Kazakhstan are going to participate in the event.

Kohli is the first player in the history of the T20 World Cup to score 3 or more fifty-plus knocks on three occasions.
After playing a match-winning knock of 82 not out again Pakistan, he amassed an unbeaten 62 against the Netherlands. After failing in a game with South Africa in Perth, he registered a crucial fifty against Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval.
