MP Home Minister Launches Country's First Ever 'FIR Aapke Dwar' Yojana

  • Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra launched country's first ever 'FIR Aapke Dwar Yojana' in Bhopal.
  • Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to implement such an innovative scheme. Launching the scheme at the new Police Control Room, Dr Narottam Mishra said that now people would not be required to visit police station to lodge an FIR.
  • 'FIR Aapke Dwar' scheme has been started as a pilot project in 23 Police Stations including one urban and one rural Police Station at 11 Divisional Headquarters.Director General of Police Vivek Johari informed that Dial 100 vehicle would have trained Head Constables to lodge FIR. FIRs in complaints of general nature will be lodged on the spot. In case of serious complaints, guidance will be sought from senior officers. 

TRIFED, AOL ink MoU to Promote Tribal Enterprises

  • Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India, TRIFED under Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Art Of Living, AOL Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in programmes of each organisation for promoting Tribal Enterprises.
  • The Art of Living Foundation has agreed to provide Free Ration Kits to Needy Tribes India Artisans.
  • TRIFED Regional Offices have compiled the list of needy tribal artisans and have identified 9,409 needy tribal artisans located across the country for distribution of ration kits under I Stand With Humanity campaign of AOL. This is being coordinated with the AOL offices in all States.

Atal Pension Yojana Completes Five Years, Achieves 2.23 Crore Enrolment

  • The flagship social security scheme of Government of India 'Atal Pension Yojana' (APY) has completed five years of its implementation. Launched on 9 May, 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed to deliver income security to the old age. It particularly offered assistance to the workers in the unorganised sector and guarantee of minimum pension to the citizens after 60 years of age.
  • Within five years of its implementation the scheme registered 2.23 crore workers and addressing the challenges of rapidly increasing aging population of India. Apart from the enrolments, the scheme has been implemented comprehensively across the country covering all states and Union Territories with male to female subscription ratio of 57:43.

Central Board of Direct Taxes Amends Rule 44G of Income-tax Rules 1962

  • Central Board of Direct Taxes on Thursday has amended Rule 44G of Income-tax Rules, 1962 for making an application to invoke the mutual agreement procedure in Form no. 34F.
  • It also states that if a resolution is arrived, the same shall be communicated to the assessee, who shall communicate his acceptance or non-acceptance within 30 days. Upon acceptance of the resolution, the assessee shall withdraw any appeal filed in this regard and pay the tax determined by the assessing officer after giving effect to the resolution.

Cooperative Banks Come Under SARFAESI Act, 2002

  • A five judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court passed a ruling that co­operative banks established under a State law or multi-State level societies come under the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest (SARFAESI) Act of 2002.
  • In this regard, the Section 2(1)(c) of SARFAESI Act of 2002 empowers the cooperative banks with recovery procedures including seize and sell defaulters' assets.The recovery procedure u/s (under section) 13 of the Act is also applicable to such banks.

Jharkhand Unveils Three Schemes to Add Rural Jobs

  • Three days after the first batch of stranded migrants returned to the state, chief minister Hemant Soren launched three employment schemes for more than six lakh migrant labourers who are returning to the state in a phased manner.
  • Aimed at reviving the rural economy which has been hit badly by the ongoing lockdown, the three new schemes — Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, Neelambar Pitambar jal Sammridhi Yojana and Poto Ho Khel Vikas Yojana — will be run by the rural development department under the MNREGA mission.

HP Govt to Launch Employment Scheme for Urban Areas

  • Looking to revive the coronavirus-hit economy of the state, the Himachal Pradesh government decided to launch a programme guaranteeing at least 120 days'' employment to those living in urban areas.
  • The cabinet decided to launch the Mukhya Mantri Shahari Rojgar Guarantee Yojna, under which 120 days'' assured employment will be provided to people living in urban areas.
