The US based tech Google introduced a new "Google IT Automation with Python Professional Certificate" a program which is designed to provide job-ready skills in Python, Git and IT automation in under six months.
Python is now the most in-demand programming language, and more than 530,000 U.S. jobs, including 75,000 entry-level jobs require Python proficiency.
The program includes a final project where learners will use their new skills to solve a problem they might encounter on the job, like building a web service using automation.
HP Kids Beat National Average in Most Tasks
Around 76 per cent of eight-year-old children in Kangra district can correctly identify all four basic human emotions (happiness, sadness, anger and fear) well above the national average of 60.5 per cent, according to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2019, released by NGO Pratham in 2020.
The survey was conducted in 60 villages of the district, involving 1,076 households and 1,334 children aged four to eight years. Nationally, the survey was conducted in 26 districts across 24 states in India, involving nearly 37,000 children.
As compared to the national average, children from the state performed better in most of the tasks, including cognitive and early language tasks, reading ability, ability to recognise numbers, and numeracy tasks. For example, 78.3 per cent students of Class 1 from Kangra successfully performed numeric addition as compared to 50.6 per cent students across the country.
Sahebrao to Get Artificial Limb in World's First Surgery of its Kind
Sahebrao, a 9-year-old Nagpur tiger, will be given an artificial limb in the world's first surgery of its kind. A team of doctors will perform the surgery to fit an artificial limb on the tiger's left paw.
The team consists of orthopaedic surgeon Shushrut Babhulkar, veterinary doctor Shirish Upadhyay, medical personnel from Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Science University's (MAFSU) Wildlife Research & Training Centre (WRTC), experts from IIT-Bombay and Dr Peter Giannoudis from University of Leeds.
Sahebrao will be the first tiger in the world to get an artificial limb. Earlier, it has been done for dogs and elephants.

China's Birth Rate Hits Lowest Level Since 1949
According to official statistics released by Beijing, China's birthrate in 2019 hit its lowest level since the founding of the People's Republic in 1949.
According to figures from the National Bureau of Statistics Chinese, mothers gave birth to 14.65 million children in 2019, a birth rate of 10.48 babies per 1,000 people.
China's demographic issues could pose serious issues for the world's second-largest economy when the current working-age population reaches retirement. Experts worry if the trend continues, or the population begins shrinking, China may get old before it gets rich.

Japan Reports Case of Mystery Virus
Japan has confirmed a case of a mystery virus that first emerged in China and is from the same family as the deadly SARS pathogen.
It appears to be only the second time the novel coronavirus has been detected outside China, after the World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed a case in Thailand.
Japan's health ministry said that a man who had visited the central Chinese city of Wuhan, the apparent epicentre of the outbreak, was hospitalised earlier this month, four days after his return to Japan.
The ministry confirmed that this is the first domestic discovery of a pneumonia case related to the new coronavirus.

More Girls Than Boys Enrolled In Govt Schools In 2019: Report
The number of girls getting enrolled in government schools is higher than boys in the age group of 4-8 years, according to the 14th Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) launched.
The ASER for 2019 is based on a survey conducted in 26 districts across 24 states in India, covering over 36,000 children in the age group of 4-8 years.
According to the report, among 4-5 year old children, 56.8 per cent girls and 50.4 per cent boys are enrolled in government schools or pre-schools while 43.2 per cent girls and 49.6 per cent boys are enrolled in private pre-schools or schools.
Govt May Treat Rare Disease Patients At One-Time Treatment Cost Up To ₹15 Lakh
The government released a draft policy, under which it proposed to fund one-time treatment cost to the tune of ₹15 lakh for certain treatable rare diseases, provided the patient was eligible under its flagship health insurance scheme, Ayushman Bharat's Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
Under the draft National Policy for Rare Diseases, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare would provide financial support under its umbrella scheme Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi.
While Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi is aimed at providing financial assistance to patients living below the poverty line, under the rare disease policy, the financial benefits will also be extended to the broader class of Ayushman Bharat, which covers 40% of the population.

Mystery SARS-Like Virus Spreads As First Confirmed Case Emerges Outside China
A new virus from the same family as the deadly SARS disease has spread beyond China's borders for the first time with a case emerging in Thailand, UN and Thai officials said on Monday.Thai doctors diagnosed a Chinese traveller with mild pneumonia on January 8 later confirmed to have been caused by the so-called novel coronavirus - which has already given rise to 41 pneumonia-like cases and one death in China.
The outbreak has caused alarm because of the link with SARS (Sudden Acute Respiratory Syndrome), which killed 349 people in mainland China and another 299 in Hong Kong in 2002-2003.
The UN health agency (WHO) confirmed that the outbreak in the city of Wuhan was caused by a previously unknown type of corona virus, a broad family ranging from the common cold to more serious illnesses like SARS.
IIFPT Inks Pact With 8 Institutes Of Punjab, Haryana
The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) signed a pact with eight other institutes located in Punjab and Haryana for facilitating a collaborative research, skill development, and student's in-plant training.
The Bathinda-based IIFPT inked the memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kam Badal, an official statement said.
The eight institutes/universities include Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana; Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda; Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana; National Daily Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal; Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research (IIWBR), Karnal; Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SUET), Sangrur; National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Mohali.
