President Confers International Gandhi Awards for Leprosy

President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the International Gandhi Awards for Leprosy. The awards were presented to Dr. NS Dharmashaktu in the individual category and the Leprosy Mission Trust under the institutional category.
The International Gandhi Awards for Leprosy commemorates the compassion that Mahatma Gandhi possessed and his services towards people with leprosy. The awards aim to recognise the outstanding work by individuals and organisations to fight leprosy and eliminate the prejudices associated with it.

Road Safety Award 2018-19

Delhi govt's public transport Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has been awarded with Transport Minister's Road Safety Award 2018-19 at an event in New Delhi. The award was given for its lowest accident rate. The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways(MoRTH) Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari awarded a trophy and a cheque of Rs. 1 Lakh to the Managing Director(MD) of DTC Shri Manoj Kumar.
Nagaland road transport won under Hill category:
The Nagaland State Transport (NST) was given the "Road safety award 2018-2019" for "lowest rate of accident" in the category for "Hill." The award was given by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU).

Uddhav Thackeray Presents Lifetime Achievement Award to Dinkar Keshav Raikar

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Bal Thackeray presented an award to senior journalist Dinkar Keshav Raikar for his contribution to journalism at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Raikar was given the lifetime achievement award instituted by the Mantralaya & Vidhimandal Vartahar Sangh.
Raikar is a consulting editor of Lokmat Group and completed 50 years in journalism.

Vinod shukla Wins First Mathrubhumi Book of the Year 2020 Award

Eminent Hindi poet-novelist and 1999 Sahitya Akademi honouree Vinod Kumar Shukla (83) has won the 1st Mathrubhumi Book of the Year award 2020 for his translated book 'Blue Is Like Blue', which deals with common people and their daily struggles.
He received this award from Kerala based Malayalam newspaper Mathrubhumi at the Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters 2020 which concluded in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Big Bang Boom Solutions Wins Prestigious SKOCH Award

Big Bang Boom Solutions Pvt Ltd (BBBS), start-up company in the defence sector was awarded the prestigious SKOCH Award for "Boron Nitrate Based Personal Hybrid Combat Armour " at New Delhi, India.
Big Bang Boom Solutions also won in the MoD (Ministry of Defence) competition around See-Through-Armour and Illegal Defence Drones in iDex (Innovations for Defence Excellence) category.
BBBS was the first company to consolidate Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the defense sector.
The Skoch Award was instituted in 2003, and is the highest civilian honour in the country conferred by an independent organisation. The award is contributed to the best efforts in the area of digital, financial and social inclusion.

Silent Champions of Coimbatore Honoured

While there may be many amongst us leading a self-less life, doing yeoman service, not all get the recognition they truly deserve. Chennai-headquartered KSA Trust — an NGO — decided to recognise such 'silent champions' in our midst.
This exercise began in 2013 and the Trust has been giving awards to such champions every year in Chennai. This year, they decided to recognise 'silent champions' amongst people in Coimbatore.
The First Champions of Kovai Awards were recognised at an event organised at the COINDIA Auditorium.
The awards are under four categories — arts and culture, enterprise, social initiative and sports.

Thirteenth Honda Young Engineer and Scientist's Award

Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) held the 13th edition of the Honda Young Engineer and Scientist's (Y-E-S) Award for 2019-20 and awarded 14 students from IITs, India's esteemed science and technology institutes, across the country. The coveted Y-E-S Award is bestowed upon brilliant minds from IITs after a meticulous evaluation by a jury of senior Honda executives and prominent Indian scientists. With the latest edition of Y-E-S programme, the company has recognised and rewarded over 168 students in 13 years.
Mr. Satoshi Suzuki, Ambassador of Japan to India, presented the award to the students in recognition of their outstanding all-round performance in academics.
