National Mentoring Day

National Mentoring Day was launched to recognise and celebrate the benefits of mentoring and takes place on October 27th each year.
The day was created by Chelsey Baker, an award-winning business mentor to help encourage and celebrate mentoring in all its forms.

Arrangements in Full Swing to Celebrate National Unity Day on October 31

Arrangements are in full swing to celebrate the National Unity Day on 31st October 2019. Lakhs of people from more than 700 districts will take part in the events to be organized to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kevadia in Gujarat to pay homage to the great leader at the Statue of Unity.
Home Minister Amit Shah will flag off the commemorative Run For Unity from New Delhi's Major Dhyanchand National Stadium at 7.10 AM on 31st of October (2019).
The Delhi Metro services will start running from 4 AM from all terminal stations across the national capital on October 31st to facilitate 'Run for Unity' event participants.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his 'Mann kibaat' address in October 2018 urged the youths of the country to take part in the 'Run for Unity' in largest possible numbers.

Third International Day of Diplomats Celebrated in Madagascar's Capital Antananarivo

Third International Day of Diplomats was celebrated in Madagascar's capital Antananarivo with the participation of the Ambassadors of the United States, European Union, African Union, India, South Korea, Algeria, Turkey, the Charge de Affaires of Russia, Egypt and diplomats of the Vatican, Switzerland among other countries.
The celebration of International Day of Diplomats was started in Brasilia in 2017 by Indian diplomat Abhay K. and since then it has gone from strength to strength.

National Pumpkin Day recognizes a favored autumn decoration and food on October 26th. Pumpkin is used in a variety of recipes, competitions, and festivals.

CVC Observes Vigilance Awareness Week

The Central Vigilance Commission, CVC is observing vigilance awareness week till 2nd November, 2019 to promote probity in public life through citizen participation.
The theme for the vigilance awareness week is 'Integrity - A way of life'. The Commission said that this theme would help to draw the attention of all sections of society especially the youth to the significance of ethical conduct in the building of an honest, non discriminatory and corruption free society.
Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions said combating corruption is not just a matter of making laws and creating institutions, but is deeply linked with human values and morals of individuals.
It said, cultivating ethical values is essential for building a New India.

October 25 has been declared International Artist Day by a group of artists who thought wisely that artists needed their own special day.
Coincidentally, it's also Picasso's birthday.

Ayurveda Day To Be Celebrated On October 25

The fourth Ayurveda Day was organised on October 25, 2019 at National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Dhanwantari Pujan and 'National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards 2019' ceremony will be held at NIA in the gracious presence of Om Birla, Speaker of Lok Sabha as Chief Guest. Minister of State (IC) for Ministry of AYUSH and Defence, Shripad Yesso Naik were present a National Conference 'Ayurveda for Longevity'. Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was the Chief Guest.
Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India decided to celebrate Ayurveda Day every year on the day of Dhanvantari Jayanti (Dhanteras) since 2016.
On this occasion, Ministry also facilitates 3-4 Ayurveda experts with 'National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Award' comprising of citation, trophy (Dhanwantari Statue) and a cash reward of rupees five lakh.

National Breadstick Day

National Breadstick Day recognizes the delicious goodness of dunkable pieces of warm and tender enjoyment.
This celebration is observed on the last Friday in October (25 October 2019). Breadsticks come in many forms. They can be soft or crunchy.

United Nations Day

UN Day marks the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN Charter. With the ratification of this founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the United Nations officially came into being.
24 October has been celebrated as United Nations Day since 1948. In 1971, the United Nations General Assembly recommended that the day be observed by Member States as a public holiday.
To mark UN Day, Secretary-General António Guterres has announced that next year's (2020) commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations will feature a large and inclusive global conversation on the role of global cooperation in building the future we want.

International Snow Leopard Day

International Snow Leopard Day is an annual holiday celebrated in different countries across the world. It is dedicated to saving one of the rarest wild cats on the planet.
International Snow Leopard Day was initiated by the countries that encompass the snow leopard's range.
They include Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
On October 23, 2013 they signed the Bishkek Declaration on the conservation of snow leopard at the First Global Snow Leopard Forum that took place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

October 24: World Development Information Day

The World Development Information Day (WDID) is observed every year on October 24 to draw attention of world to development problems and necessity of strengthening international cooperation to solve them.
The UN Conference on Trade and Development on May 17, 1972 had proposed measures for information dissemination and mobilization of public opinion relative to trade and development problems.
These measures came to be known as resolution 3038 (XXVII), which was passed by UN General Assembly in 19, 1972 and instituted World Development Information Day on October 24.

World Polio Day

The seventh annual World Polio Day takes places on 24 October 2019. Poliomyelitis is an acute enteroviral infection that mostly affects children under five years of age and in its most severe form the disease may result in permanent paralysis.
Since the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) was launched 30 years ago, the incidence of polio has fallen significantly.
Polio cases have dropped by 99.9%, from 350,000 cases in 1988 in 125 countries to 33 cases of wild poliovirus in 2018 in just two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
With polio nearly eradicated, the aim now is to sustain the progress made and ensure every child receives the polio vaccine.

Medical Assistants Recognition Day is observed on Wednesday of the third business week in October, i.e. 23 October, 2019.
One of the fastest-growing careers in the nation, medical assistants make medical offices run more smoothly and are instrumental in overall quality patient care.

The time and date are derived from the Avogadro number, which is approximately 6.02×1023, defining the number of particles (atoms or molecules) in one mole (mol) of substance, one of the seven base SI units.
