National Bison Day 2019

National Bison Day in the United States is celebrated on the first Saturday of November every year ( November 2, 2019). It is dedicated to the historical, cultural, ecological and economic contribution of the American bison to the United States.
The American bison, also known as the American buffalo, is a North American species of bison. Once widely spread throughout North America, they became nearly extinct by a combination of commercial hunting and slaughter in the 19th century.
National Bison Day was introduced in 2012. It is actively supported by Native Americans, conservationists, bison producers, educators, and other people who care about the fate of these large mammals.

All Souls' Day

All Souls' Day, in Roman Catholicism, a day for commemoration of all the faithful departed, those baptized Christians who are believed to be in purgatory because they died with the guilt of lesser sins on their souls. It is observed on November 2.
Roman Catholic doctrine holds that the prayers of the faithful on earth will help cleanse these souls in order to fit them for the vision of God in heaven, and the day is dedicated to prayer and remembrance.
Requiem masses are commonly held, and many people visit and sometimes decorate the graves of loved ones.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu Inaugurates 21st North East Book Fair In Guwahati

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the 21st North East Book Fair in Guwahati in presence of Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Speaking at the event, the Vice President highlighted the importance of libraries in our culture.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu laid stress on the use of mother tongue and relevance of books to stir one's creativity and stimulate innovative and inventive ideas.

7th India-US Economic and Financial Partnership Meeting Held In Delhi

The 7th India - US Economic and Financial partnership meeting was held in New Delhi. It was co-chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and US Secretary of Treasury Steven T Mnuchin.
During meeting both sides took stock of the efforts undertaken to further improve mutual cooperation on a wide range of multilateral subjects including anti-money laundering and combating financing of terrorism.

National Impotency Month in November opens up a dialogue about erectile dysfunction (ED).
While the subject isn't often discussed, studies suggest it becomes more common with age.
Addressing concerns with doctor for proper treatment is essential. While prescriptions are available, there are less expensive treatments. Lifestyle changes may reduce stressors and eliminate the cause.
If the changes don't remedy the disorder, the physician may try other therapies and rule out other conditions.

KVS Organizes Four-Day Event Of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Parv' 2019

Four-day long event Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Parv 2019 was inaugurated in New Delhi. The event is being organized by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, KVS.
The main objective of the event is to celebrate the unity in diversity and to promote the spirit of national integration through deep and structured engagement among all Indian states and Union Territories in a year-long planned engagement between states.

National COPD Awareness Month

November is National COPD Awareness Month, and a great opportunity to help educate your patients about COPD.
According to the American Lung Association, an estimated 15.3 million Americans suffer from COPD, and several additional millions likely have COPD and don't even know it. Early diagnosis and treatment can help people with COPD improve their quality of life and health.

National Pomegranate Month

National Pomegranate Month is an annual designation observed in November. Pomegranates date back to ancient civilizations throughout the Mediterranean, and they are also featured in ancient Egyptian mythology and art.

World Vegan Day

Vegan Day first occurred on November 1st, 1994 as a way of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the UK Vegan Society and indeed the term "Vegan".
The Vegan Society was established in November of 1944; although the exact date was unknown.
The President of the Vegan Society decided to elect the date of the 1st of November. This is now recognised as the date on which the Vegan Society was founded and on which Vegan Day is observed.

November Is National Diabetes Month

The theme for 2019 National Diabetes Month is "Take Diabetes to Heart: Linking Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease."
According to Chenango County Department of Health officials, November's designation is meant to help raise awareness that having diabetes means you are more likely to develop heart disease. Over time, high blood glucose from diabetes can damage your heart.

World Cities Day-31 October

World Cities Day was observed on 31 October. The day aims to promote the interest of the international community to implement the New Urban Agenda globally.
It also ensures to enhance cooperation among countries in meeting opportunities and addressing challenges of urbanization in cities.
Around half of the world's population now live in cities. The number of the airports is expected to double by 2050 as urbanization is one of the world's most transformative trends.
Theme 2019: The theme for the year 2019, selected by the United Nations, is "Changing the world: innovations and a better life for future generations". The theme aims to discuss how urbanization can be used to achieve sustainable development.

National Gratitude month

November is officially National Gratitude month. It is one of the best way to to make an extra effort daily to thank someone in your life.
It's no coincidence that gratitude month and Thanksgiving fall during 30 day period. However, gratitude means more than saying "thanks."

National Workshops On Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana Begins

A two day "National Workshop on Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDY)" begins. PMVDY is a component of 100 days plan of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
The workshop has been organized to take stock of all the activities under the program and to plan the future steps.
Participants from 25 States are participating in the workshop along with the TRIFED team.
TRIFED has so far received and sanctioned 555 VDVK proposals from the 15 states i.e. Andhra Pradesh (30), Assam (3), Bihar (8), Chhattisgarh (136), Gujarat (17), Jharkhand (39), Karnataka (19), Madhya Pradesh (20), Maharashtra (64), Manipur (6), Nagaland (20), Odisha (156), Rajasthan (25), Tamil Nadu (7) and Uttar Pradesh (5).

Diwali Milan Organized For PMO Staff At Lok Kalyan Marg

Diwali Milan was organized for the officers and staff of Prime Minister's Office at Lok Kalyan Marg on October 30, 2019.
Appreciating the good work done by the entire PMO staff, Mr Modi said that the transformative work done by the government has been possible due to the hard work and continuous effort of the staff.
He enthused the staff to take stock of what has happened in the previous year and strive to achieve greater heights in the coming year.

World Stroke Day

World Stroke Day is observed on October 29 every year to underscore the serious nature and high rates of stroke, raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of the condition, and ensure better care and support for survivors.
On this day, organizations around the world have facilitated events emphasizing education, testing, and initiatives to improve the damaging effects of stroke worldwide. The annual event was started in 2006 by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) and the WSO declared stroke a public health emergency in 2010.
The WSO now has an ongoing campaign that serves as a year-round interface for advocacy, policy, and outreach to support strides and continue progress made on World Stroke Day.
The focus this year (2019) is on prevention - more specifically, "Don't be the one" where "one" refers to the one out of four people who will have a stroke at some point in their lives.

National Unity Day Being Observed Across The Country

National Unity Day - Rashtriya Ekta Diwas - is being observed across the country today, on the occasion of the 144th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Since 2014, October 31st is observed as the National Unity Day and people from all walks of life participate in the 'Run For Unity'.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tribute to Sardar Patel at the 'Statue of Unity' at Kevadiya in Gujarat.

Union Minister of State for Road Transport V.K. Singh said that infrastructure will propel the growth of economy and to achieve this growth country needs sustainable and environment friendly roads and highways.
Addressing the 5th International Conference on Road Tech (sustainable roads and highways) in New Delhi, he said in the last five years great amount of works have been done in the field of infrastructure and in future much more will be done.

Halloween

Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of Hallows' Even or Hallows' Evening), also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows' Eve, or All Saints' Eve, is a celebration observed in several countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day.
It begins the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed.
It is widely believed that many Halloween traditions originated from ancient Celtic harvest festivals, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain; that such festivals may have had pagan roots; and that Samhain itself was Christianized as Halloween by the early Church.
Some believe, however, that Halloween began solely as a Christian holiday, separate from ancient festivals like Samhain.

National Book Month

National Book Month is held each October. The month-long celebration focuses on the importance of reading, writing and literature. National Book Month is also a time to honor the country's best books and authors.

Sheikh Sultan Inaugurates Sharjah International Book Fair 2019

The 38th edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) 2019 was inaugurated by Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. Nearly 1800 exhibitors from 77 countries are participating in the Fair.
The fair will showcase 987 activities presenting scientific, knowledge and literary themes.
Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, said that this year's book fair will be carrying the theme of the Sharjah World Book Capital (SWBC), 'Open Books Open Minds', to promote books and reading across age groups and communities.

World Savings Day

The World Savings Day was established on October 30, 1924, during the 1st International Savings Bank Congress (World Society of Savings Banks) in Milan, Italy.
The Italian Professor Filippo Ravizza declared this day the "International Saving Day" on the last day of the congress.
In the resolutions of the Thrift Congress it was decided that 'World Thrift Day' should be a day devoted to the promotion of savings all over the World.
In their efforts to promote thrift, the savings banks also worked with the support of the schools, the clergy, as well as cultural, sports, professional, and women's associations.

World Chocolate Day

References to World Chocolate Day being observed on 9th of July have been recorded as early as 2009.
Celebration of the day includes the consumption of chocolate. Some references indicate that this day celebrates the introduction of chocolate to Europe in 1550.
Many other chocolate day celebrations exist, such as National Chocolate Day in the United States on 28 October.
Confusingly, the U.S. National Confectioners Association lists 13 September as International Chocolate Day.

Internet Day

Internet Day is an event celebrated in Mexico, Peru, Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, Spain, Colombia, Uruguay, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, and other parts of the world on October 29, promoted by the Association of Internet Users.
It was celebrated for the first time on October 29, 2005. Shortly afterwards, at the Summit of the Information Society celebrated in Tunisia in November 2005, it was decided to propose to the UN the designation of October 29 as the World-wide Day of the Information Society, which resulted in Internet Day being celebrated on that day.
