World Science Day for Peace and Development 10 November

Celebrated every 10 November, World Science Day for Peace and Development highlights the significant role of science in society and the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues.
It also underlines the importance and relevance of science in our daily lives.
2019 Theme: "Open science, leaving no one behind"
Open Science is not only an issue of science being open to the research community, as in "open access" and "open data" but refers to a science open to society.

Uttarakhand Foundation Day

Uttarakhand was formed on 9 November, 2000 by joining several districts from the Northwestern part of Uttar Pradesh and a portion of the Himalayan Mountain range.
19th Uttarakhand Foundation Day was celebrated in 2019. In 2007, the name of the state was formally altered from Uttaranchal to Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand is famous as the Land of the Gods or "Dev Bhumi".
During the time of foundation, it was named Uttaranchal. It is situated in Northern India and is a great pilgrimage centre.

Iqbal Day

Iqbal Day is the birthday of Dr Allama Mohammad Iqbal on 9 November. The day is a public holiday in all provinces and federal administrative areas of Pakistan.
Iqbal, a poet and philosopher, was a great inspiration for the Pakistan Movement.

International Day of Radiology 2019

International Day of Radiology event is organised by the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT). Let us tell you that X-rays were discovered by Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895.
The theme of International Radiology Day 2019 is "Sports Imaging".
The theme of 2019 focuses on the essential role that imaging professionals play in the detection, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of sports-related injuries, increases the quality of care and treatment of patients.
International Day of Radiology (IDOR) celebration is a week-long celebration as National Radiologic Technology Week from 3 November to 9 November 2019.

Legal Services Day

Legal Services Day is celebrated every year on 9th of November in all the states Authorities. At this day variety of legal literacy camps and functions are organized at many places in the capital city of the country.
People from government as well as non government organizations take part in the functions and camps related to the Legal Services Day.
The aim of celebrating the Legal Services Day is to offer the free of charge, proficient and legal services to the people of weaker sections of society.
It also organizes the Lok Adalats to make safe the legal system operations and encourages the righteousness of people on the equality basis.

ASEM To Hold Its 10th Asian Conference In New Delhi, The First In India

The Asian Society for Emergency Medicine (ASEM) and Society for Emergency Medicine India (SEMI) announces the 10th Asian Conference on Emergency Medicine (ACEM) in New Delhi, India from November 7th-10th, 2019.
The biennial conference intends to aim at lectures, discussions and talks on affordable emergency care for all sections of the society, bridging gaps in healthcare and creating a positive impact on the society.
More than 2000 emergency medicine experts from over 32 distinct nations will grace the occasion. Eight keynote speakers, including a specialist in emergency and injury/ trauma-care from the World Health Organization (WHO), are scheduled to speak at ACEM 2019.

National Cappuccino Day - November 8

National Cappuccino Day on November 8th whips up a frothy, hot cup of cappuccino. It's a perfect drink on a frosty morning, meeting with friends or just to enjoy a creamy cuppa.
Traditionally prepared with espresso, hot milk, and steamed milk foam, a cappuccino is an Italian coffee drink.
The word cappuccino comes from the Capuchin friars and is the diminutive form of cappuccio in Italian, meaning hood or something that covers the head. This popular coffee beverage got its name not from the hood on their habits but from the color of the hooded robes that the friars wore.

11th Edition Of Bal Sangam To Begin in November

The Eleventh edition of Bal Sangam to be organised by the National School of Drama, NSD, will begin from the 9th November, 2019 in the New Delhi.
It is a confluence of folk and traditional art forms performed by children. The four-day festival will showcase enthralling folk and traditional performing arts and folk theatre dedicated to children.
Briefing media, Director, In-Charge, NSD, Suresh Sharma said as many as twelve States including Assam, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat are participating in the event. He said, 12 folk presentations and three folk theatres programme will be displayed.

Mansukh Mandaviya Inaugurates The First Ever 'BIMSTEC Ports' Conclave'

The Minister of State (I/C) for Shipping,Shri Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the first ever'BIMSTEC Ports' Conclave'at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on 7-8 November,2019.
The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) is an International Organization involving a group of countries in the South Asia and South East Asia namely, Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal, Delegates from the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the Kingdom of Bhutan, the Republic of India, and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Kingdom of Thailand.
These BIMSTEC Countries will be a part of this conclave and will present their country's perspective on BIMSTEC and regional ports.

National Stress Awareness Day

National Stress Awareness Day on the first Wednesday in November aims to identify and reduce the stress factors in your life.
Everyone has stress. Some stress is good for us. It helps us to respond to changes in life.
Stress is our body's way protecting itself from harm. However, too much stress causes harm to our health and relationships.
Identifying the stressors impacting our physical and mental health is important. Sometimes, health problems are the cause.
But our health can also be affected by external stressors such as physical abuse, stressful work environments, financial stress, or other family health issues.
Once we identify the causes of stress in our lives, we can begin to eliminate or reduce the stress.
Develop a routine to help you lessen your tension. Go for a walk, do some deep breathing, get some exercise or a massage or take a long, relaxing bath.

National Saxophone Day

National Saxophone Day commemorates the birth of the woodwind's inventor, Adolphe Sax, on November 6th. The saxophone is one of the main instruments in jazz music.
Born on November 6, 1814, Adolphe Sax invented many musical instruments including the saxophone.
Sax constructed saxophones in several sizes in the early 1840s. On June 28, 1846, he received a 15-year patent for the instrument.
The patent encompassed 14 different versions of the fundamental design, split into two categories of seven instruments each and ranging from sopranino to contrabass.
After Sax's patent expired in 1866, several saxophonists and instrument manufacturers implemented their own improvements to the original design and key work.

National Nachos Day

On November 6th, National Nachos Day recognizes the snack favored at sporting events across the country. In their purest form, nachos are tortilla chips covered in nacho cheese or other melted cheese and served with salsa.
First created sometime around 1943, the popular and loved nachos are of Mexican origin.
History tells us that Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya created the original nachos in 1943. According to his son, his father was the maître d' at the El Moderno Restaurant in Piedras Negras. One evening after the kitchen staff had left, a group of U.S. Army wives stationed at Fort Duncan in Eagle Pass came into the restaurant. After a long day of shopping, they were hungry and asked for a snack.
Anaya prepared some tostadas cut into triangles. After topping them with shredded cheese and sliced jalapenos, he heated the dish in the oven. They were such a hit with the Army wives that they named the snack "Nacho's Special" before he could make another batch.
Word of the new creation quickly traveled. People from all over tried them, loved them, and over time, the name changed. Eventually, Nacho's special became special nachos.

International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict

On 5 November 2001, the UN General Assembly declared 6 November of each year as the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict.
Furthermore, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has found that over the last 60 years, at least 40 percent of all internal conflicts have been linked to the exploitation of natural resources, whether high-value resources such as timber, diamonds, gold and oil, or scarce resources such as fertile land and water.
Conflicts involving natural resources have also been found to be twice as likely to relapse.
The United Nations attaches great importance to ensuring that action on the environment is part of conflict prevention, peacekeeping and peacebuilding strategies, because there can be no durable peace if the natural resources that sustain livelihoods and ecosystems are destroyed.
On 27 May 2016, the United Nations Environment Assembly adopted resolution UNEP/EA.2/Res.15, which recognized the role of healthy ecosystems and sustainably managed resources in reducing the risk of armed conflict, and reaffirmed its strong commitment to the full implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals listed in General Assembly resolution 70/1, entitled "Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".
