With an aim to make tech graduates more employable Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently inaugurated the Rajiv Gandhi Center for Advanced Technologies (R-CAT) in Jaipur. The center will organize modern technologies related training programs of one week to six months duration for graduates from BE, B.Tech, BCA, MCA, MBA, and MSc (IT) in collaboration with tech giants of global scale and World class certificates will also be issued to successful candidates.

Rajasthan Government Inaugurates Tech Centre for Graduates
With an aim to make tech graduates more employable, Rajasthan government inaugurated a "one of its kind" finishing school.
Rajiv Gandhi Centre of Advance Technology or R-CAT was inaugurated by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot during a two-day DigiFest-2022.
R-CAT will conduct training programs on advanced and emerging information technologies with a duration ranging from one week to six months for professional graduates like BE/BTech, BCA, MCA, MBA, MSc (IT) and so on.
The school will issue industry standard certificates for the courses to the successful candidates.
National Anthem must in Schools during Morning Assembly, Orders Karnataka Education Department
Following complaints that some primary and high schools in Bengaluru were avoiding singing the national anthem during the morning assembly, Karnataka's Department of School Education and Literacy issued an order, making Jana, Gana, Mana compulsory.
As per reports, complaints were made to Education Minister B. C. Nagesh that certain private schools in Bengaluru were not complying with the standard protocol of singing the national anthem during morning assembly.

Tamil Nadu Governor R. N. Ravi Appoints VC to State-run Universities
Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, who is also the Chancellor of state-run universities, appointed Vice-Chancellors to three government universities.
The Tamil Nadu Governor appointed T. Arumugam as Vice-Chancellor of Vellore-based Thiruvalluvar University. Mr. Ravi and N. Chandrasekar were appointed as Vice-Chancellors of Alagappa and Manonmaniam Sundaranar Universities respectively. Alagappa University and Mananmaniam Sundaranar University are in Karaikudi and Tirunelveli respectively.
The appointments are for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of office by the appointees.

University of Birmingham Dubai Announces Scholarships for Indian Students
The University of Birmingham Dubai announced scholarships for Indian students, domiciled and living in India. Interested students can apply for the scholarship at the official website.
Once the student has submitted their application, and if they receive an offer from the university, the value of the scholarship will be advised based on predicted grades or on meeting the offer conditions. Candidates can be awarded up to 40 per cent of their tuition fees.
The candidates should have cleared English language tests such as IELTS, TOEFL or PTE. The candidates will have to submit their previous academic qualifications as proof. There is a relaxation in board exam marks pass percentage. If a candidate from ICSE, CBSE, West Bengal State Board, has scored at least 65 per cent marks, will be considered for entry to Birmingham Foundation Academy while this criteria for other boards are 70 per cent.

MP's Tribal-dominated Mandla Becomes Country's First Fully 'Functionally Literate' District
Madhya Pradesh's city Mandla, which is a tribal-dominated region became India's first fully 'functionally literate' district.
As per reports, the district administration launched a campaign in 2020 to make the residents fully literate. For the purpose, the administration employed the education, and women and child development departments along with social workers to educate the people.
Within two years, the entire district has become functionally literate, the collector added, claiming that people were able to write their names, count and read, making Mandla the first district in the country to achieve this distinction.
IIT Madras Launches 'Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems'
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, launched a Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems. It would focus on a deeper study of mathematics and astronomy in India; architectural engineering (including vastu and silpa sastra); Indian political and economic thought; and Indian aesthetics grammatical traditions.
Aditya Kolachana is the Centre's principal investigator. The faculty members include Arun Menon; Manu Santhanam; Santosh Kumar Sahu; Sudarsan Padmanabhan; Rajesh Kumar; and Jyotirmaya Tripathy. The Indian Knowledge Systems Division of the Union Education Ministry is funding the Centre.
The Centre is aimed at publishing quality research into Indian knowledge systems by involving researchers and scholars from outside and disseminate the findings. It will offer IIT students courses on the thematic areas and subsequently on the NPTEL platform.
Centre Launches Paalan 1000 National Campaign to Reduce Child Mortality
The Indian government launched a new campaign to reduce child mortality, including an app. Union Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar virtually launched the Paalan 1000 National Campaign and Parenting App in Mumbai.
India has taken rapid strides in reducing child mortality since 2014 - when it was 45 per 1000 live births - to 35 per 1000 live births in 2019.
The campaign is on the fact that the first 1000 days of a child's life is when a platform is established for its physical, mental, emotional, cognitive and social health.
'Paalan 1000 - Journey of the First 1000 Days' focuses on the cognitive developments of children in the first two years of its life, while the companion app will provide the caregiver with practical advice.
