Ireland batter Peter Moor announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 35. He made 85 international appearances before calling time on his career.
He started his international career with Zimbabwe before moving to Ireland. He played his last international match in February 2025 in the one-off Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.

India to Host Shooting World Cup in 2027 and Junior Worlds in 2028

India Drops to 133rd in FIFA Rankings, Worst Since 2016
India's ranking fell from 127 to 133 in the latest FIFA rankings, released in July 2025. The slide happened after India lost 0-2 to Thailand in a friendly match in June, and then 0-1 to lower-ranked Hong Kong during the Asian Cup qualifiers. These losses also led to the departure of head coach Manolo Marquez, who parted ways with the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
India's rating points also dropped from 1132.03 to 1113.22. Among Asian nations, India now ranks 24th out of 46, while Japan leads the continent at 17th place in the world rankings.
Verbeek and Siniakova Win Wimbledon Mixed Doubles Title
Czech Katerina Siniakova and Sem Verbeek of the Netherlands claimed the Wimbledon mixed doubles title, defeating Britain's Joe Salisbury and Brazilian Luisa Stefani 7-6(3) 7-6(3).

Team India Secures 588 Medals at World Police and Fire Games
Team India secured a total of 588 medals, including 280 gold medals, at the 21st edition of the World Police and Fire Games 2025 in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
Team India ranked third in the overall charts, behind the USA (1,354 medals, including 569 gold, 433 silver, and 352 bronze medals) and Brazil (743 medals, including 266 gold, 246 silver, and 231 bronze medals).
India will be hosting the 2029 edition of the tournament in Ahmedabad.
RCB Becomes IPL's Most Valuable Team in 2025
In a reshuffling of franchise rankings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) dethroned Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and became the most valuable IPL team following their maiden championship win this season (2025).
RCB's brand value jumped to $269 million from $227 million in 2024. Mumbai Indians followed closely in second place with a value of $242 million, rising from fourth position last year (2024). CSK fell to third place, with its value increasing only slightly to $235 million. Punjab Kings (PBKS) saw the highest year-on-year growth in value—up by nearly 40%, thanks to their strong performance.

The Indian Under-15 wrestling teams delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Under-15 Asian Wrestling Championship held in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) from July 4 to 7, 2025, competing across Free Style, Greco-Roman, and Women's Wrestling categories.
The Indian Under-15 Freestyle Wrestling Team emerged as Team Champion, securing a total of 203 points, leaving Japan in second place with 166 points. The Indian contingent claimed eight medals, including six gold, one silver, and one bronze, dominating the competition.
The Women's Wrestling Team displayed a valiant effort, finishing second overall with 202 points, just behind Japan, who scored 217 points.
