Philae Comet Lander Falls Silent
According to scientists, the Philae comet lander has fallen silent.
The spacecraft, which landed on Comet 67P in November, last made contact on 9th July.
The first craft to perform a soft landing on a comet, Philae initially bounced, landing in a position too dark for sunlight to reach its solar panels.
Philae's antenna may have been obstructed, and one of its transmitters appears to have stopped working.

New Material to Increase Solar Cell Efficiency
A team of researchers has come up with a solar cell that produces fuel rather than electricity. A material called gallium phosphide enables the solar cell to produce clean fuel ‘hydrogen gas’ from liquid water.
Asteroid UW-158 Hurtled Past Earth
An asteroid with a 90-million tonne platinum-core worth five trillion dollars hurtled past earth.
Asteroid UW-158, loaded with rich Platinum, passed 1.5 million miles away from Earth, which is 30 times closer than our nearest planet.

Frozen Craterless Plains in Heart of Pluto
NASA’S New Horizons has discovered frozen plains in the heart of the dwarf planet which appears to be no more than 100 million years old and is possibly still being shaped by geologic processes.
The icy plains region has been informally named “Sputnik Planum” after the Earth’s first artificial satellite.
The surface's features might be signs of convection, caused by heat from within the planet.

Jupiter's Twin Found
A team of scientists has discovered a planet with a mass very similar to Jupiter, orbiting a sun-like star at almost the same distance as Jupiter.
According to the most recent theories, the arrangement of our solar system was made possible by the presence of Jupiter and the gravitational influence this gas giant exerted on the solar system during its formative years.
As per researchers, finding a twin of Jupiter is an important milestone on the road to finding a planetary system that mirrors our own.
The planet`s host, the solar twin named HIP 11915, is not only similar in mass to the sun but is also about the same age.
To further strengthen the similarities, the composition of the star is found to be similar to our sun.
