Icy mountain ranges can be seen rising from Pluto`s surface, according to the first close-up images released from NASA`s New Horizon`s spacecraft after its historic of flyby of the dwarf planet.
The mountains` elevation reaches 11,000 feet.
Scientists were also stunned to see a close-up section of Pluto that showed no sign of craters, despite its home in the Kuiper Belt, the region beyond Neptune where cosmic debris is constantly pelting Pluto and its five moons.

New Class of Particle Discovered
Scientists have discovered of a new class of exotic subatomic particles called the pentaquarks.
Pentaquark was first predicted to exist in the 1960s but, much like the Higgs boson particle before it, the particle eluded science for decades until its detection at the LHC.
Pentaquark represents a way to aggregate quarks, namely the fundamental constituents of ordinary protons and neutrons, in a pattern that has never been observed before in over 50 years of experimental searches.

Tianhe-2 Supercomputer Named the World's Fastest
China's Tianhe-2 supercomputer was named the world's fastest for the fifth time, outperforming those from the US.
Tianhe-2 has topped the world's fastest supercomputer at the International Supercomputing Conference in Frankfurt.
The supercomputer was designed and made by Changsha-based National University of Defense Technology. It was unveiled in 2013.

ISRO successfully launched PSLV-C28 carrying 5 UK satellites
ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) C-28 has successfully put five satellites of United Kingdom into designated orbits.
With this, India has successfully launched 45 satellites of 18 different foreign countries successfully in space since 1999.
World's Most Powerful Computer Chip Created
IBM has built a working version of a new computer chip, and it says it’s the most powerful ever created.
At around four times more powerful than today's top-of-the-line technology, it should pave the way for a new generation of super-speedy computers and gadgets in the not-too-distant future.
All this power is made possible by transistors that are just 7 nanometres in size (7 billionths of a metre), created using a special silicon-germanium mixture instead of pure silicon.

Heart-shaped Feature on Pluto's Surface
A heart-shaped feature was viewed on Pluto`s surface in the most detailed photo yet returned by NASA`s New Horizons probe, which has now begun its final run of its historic flyby of the planet.
The heart-shaped feature on the dwarf planet`s surface measures about 1,200 miles (2,000 kilometres) wide.
Pluto`s closest approach is scheduled for next Tuesday, when New Horizons will pass within 6,200 miles (10,000 km) of the dwarf planet`s surface, travelling at a speed of 27,000 miles (43,000 km) per hour.
