Is it required to have knowledge about a specific subject to take the test?
No, TELT tests your English language ability and not any other subject.
How old do I need to be to take the test?
The minimum age for TELT General is 16 years and for TELT Professional is 21 years.
Do I need computer skills to take the test?
You do not need any special computer skills. Only some basic computer knowledge like operating keyboard and mouse is required.
Are all the sections (Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening) weighted equally?
Yes. All the 4 sections carry equal weightage.
How many times can I take the test?
You are allowed to make 3 attempts. However, you can appear for the next attempt only after a 6-month period of your previous attempt.
How can I register for test?
You can register for the test online. There is no other way of registration.
How can I make payment for the test?
You can pay the fee-amount online via debit card, credit card or net banking.
How should my name appear on Registration Form?
Your name and spelling of your name must match with the name on Aadhar card.
What is the test fee refund policy?
If, in any case, a candidate cancels the test, the test fee will not be refunded. If you travel to the test centre and find out that the test has been cancelled by TCY, you can reschedule your test at no charge or receive a full refund of your test fee within 15 working days.
What is the test reschedule policy?
You can reschedule your test any time before a 3-day period from scheduled date. The test can be rescheduled only once to any date not exceeding a period of 3 months from last scheduled date. If your test is rescheduled by TCY before you take test, you can select a different test date and you will not be charged the rescheduling fee.
What documents can I use as ID?
You need to present your Aadhar card at all the stages. Any other form of ID document will not be taken into consideration.
What happens if there is any problem with my computer or if it stops working during the test?
If such situation arises, you must report it to the test administrator. He/she will ensure that your problem is reported and solved at the earliest.
How do I know about time during the test?
Your computer screen will show you a timer displaying the time allowed and time remaining.
If you are not satisfied with your results, or, want re-evaluation of your scores you can report an enquiry by dropping a mail or through a call within 48 hours of receiving your test scores. All such complaints are handled with due diligence with minimum response time.
