It is designed to provide a friendlier, more flexible test-taking experience.
- The Verbal Reasoning section measures your ability to understand what you read and how you apply your reasoning skills. A Verbal Reasoning score is reported on a 130 - 170 score scale, in 1-point increments.
- With increased emphasis on data interpretation and real-life scenarios, this section has new types of questions that require you to show your quantitative reasoning ability. A Quantitative Reasoning score is reported on a 130 - 170 score scale, in 1-point increments.
- The Analytical Writing section requires you to provide focused responses based on the tasks presented, so you can accurately demonstrate your skill in directly responding to a task. An Analytical Writing score is reported on a 0 - 6 score level, in half-point increments.

The deadline to register for a computer-based test online and by phone is seven days prior to the test date if seats are still available. Registrations by mail must be received at least four weeks before the requested first-choice date.
