The 70th Mahaparinirvan Diwas commemorated by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) on behalf of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, At Prerna sthal Parliament House Campus, in December 2025, near the statue of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
The commemoration of the 70th Mahaparinirvan Diwas began with a floral tribute from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President of India, C.P Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, Speaker, Om Birla, Deputy Speaker Rajya Sabha, Hariwansh Narayan Singh, Leader of the opposition, Parliamentarians, and many other dignitaries who attended the VIP session in the early hours of the day.
In the course of time, the entire event will be opened up to the public to pay their obeisance at the feet of the life-size statue of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the Parliament House Lawn. The Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Dr. Ambedkar is annually commemorated by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) on behalf of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. This is done to commemorate the death anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a visionary social reformer, jurist, and politician. He played a significant role in drafting the Indian Constitution and championed the cause of marginalized communities, especially SCs/OBCs/STs/Women.
