Rajesh Nirwan Appointed as Director General of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS)
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Rajesh Nirwan as the Director General (DG) of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
A 1992-batch IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, Rajesh Nirwan brings a wealth of experience in law enforcement and security management. His career began with his posting as Superintendent of Police (SP), CID (CB), Jaipur. Over the years, he has served as the police chief in several districts, including Jhalawar, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, and Kota, where he gained extensive experience in handling complex law and order situations.

Vice Admiral Rajaram Swaminathan, AVSM, NM assumed charge as the Controller of Warship Production & Acquisition from Vice Admiral B. Sivakumar, AVSM, VSM.
Vice Admiral Swaminathan was commissioned in Indian Navy in 1987. He is a post-graduate from IIT, Kharagpur. In a career spanning more than 37 years, he has worked onboard the Aircraft Carrier, INS Viraat, for more than nine years in various capacities.
He has held many important assignments including Fleet Engineer Officer (Western Fleet), General Manager (Refit) at Naval Dockyard (Mumbai), Director of Personnel and Principal Director Ship Production at New Delhi.

India Joins €7.1 bn Eurodrone as Observer
India as an observer state, officially joined the Medium Altitude Long Endurance Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (MALE RPAS) or Eurodrone programme, managed by the Bonn-based Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) and led by Taufkirchen-based aerospace company Airbus Defence and Space.
A formal request to join the programme was made in August 2024, with acceptance coming just days before Aero India 2025 in Bangalore, Asia's largest military aviation exhibition.
Eurodrone is a four-nation initiative involving Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. The programme, led by Airbus Defence and Space (Germany), includes Leonardo (Italy), Dassault Aviation (France), and Airbus (Spain) as major subcontractors.
This move demonstrates India's willingness to explore collaborative opportunities on shared interests with Europe.

SANJAY is an automated system that integrates the inputs from all ground and aerial battlefield sensors, processing them to confirm their veracity, preventing duplication and fusing them to produce a Common Surveillance Picture of the battlefield over a secured Army Data Network and Satellite Communication Network.
