India Developing its Own 400 km Class Long-Range Surface to Air Missile Air Defence System
In what could be a major boost for self-reliance in the defence sector, India is indigenously developing a three-layered long-range surface-to-air missile (LRSAM) defence system which would be able to strike down enemy aircraft and missiles at around 400 km ranges.
The proposal for developing a three-layered long-range surface-to-air missile system is at an advanced stage in the Defence Ministry and is expected to be taken up for clearance soon.
The missile system will have three layers of surface-to-air missiles, which would allow it to hit targets at different ranges.
The surface-to-air missile system development work has been taking place as India worked with Israel to develop the medium-range surface-to-air missile system MRSAM which can hit aerial targets at 70 plus km.

Taiwan's Main Airport Becomes Battleground for Simulated Chinese Invasion
Taiwan's Taoyuan International Airport became the scene of a simulated Chinese invasion for the first time ever as the island's military conducted an anti-takeover drill to fend off any possible attack from Beijing.
The drill was designed to test the Taiwanese military's cross-branch coordination and emergency response capabilities during a simulated Chinese invasion.
The exercise was part of Taiwan's week-long massive wargames — the annual 'Han Kuang' (Han Glory) drills — which this year has included protecting civilian airports as Beijing ramps up military and political pressures on the island.
This is the first such drill held at Taiwan's biggest airport near the capital since it opened in 1979.
