New Book Titled "Gandhi: Siyasat Aur Sampradaiykta" Written by Piyush Babele
A new book in Hindi titled 'Gandhi: Siyasat aur Sampradaiykta' (Gandhi: Politics and Communalism) written by journalist-turned-author Piyush Babele, who currently heads the Madhya Pradesh Congress' media department, was released. He cites extracts from Dr. Ambedkar's book 'Pakistan or the Partition of India' and other sources, and claims to "contextualise the developments leading up to India's Partition in 1947 to bust the illusion spread by the Hindu right wing that Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for the Partition".
The formal launch of the book, published by the New Delhi-based Genuine Publications and Media Private Limited, took place in Indore at an event that former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath attended.

A Book "Phoolange" by Darjeeling-based Writer Lekhnath Chhetri
Penguin Random House India (PRHI) announced that the English translation of the Nepali novel "Phoolange" would be on April 17. The book is written by Lekhnath Chhetri, a writer based in Darjeeling, and focuses on the failed Gorkha movement for a separate state. The original Nepali version of the novel was shortlisted for the Madan Puraskar, which is Nepal's most prestigious literary award, in 2021.

The novel explores the social, political, and economic conditions that led to the formation of the movement and the subsequent violence that ensued. The title "Phoolange" translates to "Those Who Scatter Flowers" in English, and it refers to the peaceful nature of the Gorkhaland movement. The novel highlights the struggles faced by the Nepali-speaking community in the Darjeeling hills and their demand for a separate state of Gorkhaland.

Perumal Murugan's Tamil Novel 'Pyre' Longlisted for International Booker Prize 2023
Indian author Perumal Murugan's Tamil novel 'Pyre' is among 13 books from across Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America to make it to the longlist of the International Booker Prize 2023, announced by the Booker Prize Foundation.
Murugan made it to the prestigious list with his 2016 book "Pyre", translated from Tamil by Aniruddhan Vasudevan, becoming the first Tamil writer to make it to the longlist of 13 works.
The coveted literary prize, won last year (2022) by Geetanjali Shree and translator Daisy Rockwell for the first-ever Hindi novel 'Tomb of Sand', is awarded annually for a work of fiction written originally in any language, translated into English and published in the UK or Ireland.
