'Supreme Court on Commercial Arbitration' Book by Dr. Manoj Kumar

  • A compendium of three volumes with Judgments spanning from the year 1988 till 2022 covering Arbitration Act 1940 and 1996, the book titled 'Supreme Court on Commercial Arbitration' by Dr. Manoj Kumar and fore worded by R. Venkataramani was released.
  • There has been substantial jurisprudence laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the Country on Commercial Arbitration spanning over multiple statutory frameworks. There was a need to put all the significant Judgments of the Apex Court on Commercial Arbitration at one place to have a better understanding on how the law has evolved. This work in the shape of a compendium of three volumes with Judgments spanning from the year 1988 till 2022 covering Arbitration Act, 1940 and Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 aims to achieve the above objective.

Hindi Version of Uttarakhand DGP's Book 'Cyber Encounters' Released

  • Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the Hindi version of 'Cyber Encounters', a book written by the Director General of Police Ashok Kumar and co-authored by former DRDO scientist O.P. Manocha. The book gives an insight into the world of cyber criminals and the challenges faced by law enforcement agencies while tracking and catching them. Dhami said that the book is very relevant and informative in today's scenario of rapidly growing cyber crime. He said that cyber crime is the biggest challenge in today's time and this book makes the public aware of it with more detailed information and how police tackle it.

A Book Tittled "Droupadi Murmu: From Tribal Hinterlands to Raisina Hills" by Kasturi Ray

  • The book titled "Droupadi Murmu: From Tribal Hinterlands to Raisina Hills" tells the inspiring story of a tribal girl who overcame obstacles to become a symbol of resilience, determination, and perseverance. K. K. Shailaja's Autobiographical Work Titled 'My Life As A Comrade'

  • CPM central committee member and former health minister of Kerala, K. K. Shailaja's autobiographical work titled 'My Life As A Comrade' was published by Juggernaut Books, a Delhi-based publishing house. In her new book, My Life as a Comrade, co-written with Manju Sara Rajan, former CEO of the Kochi Biennale Foundation and journalist, Shailaja writes about the course of her life that started in a small settlement in Malabar and eventually led her to a Cabinet position in the State government.
  • In this superb memoir, she tells her story – from her childhood as a shy, fearful girl, her days as a school teacher where she learnt the art of managing difficult students to her entry into politics leading to a tenure as Health Minister where she dealt with two terrifying epidemics.

Indo-Canadian Rupi Kaur Book among Most Banned in US Schools

  • Rupi Kaur, a Canadian-Sikh poet, made it to the list of 11 most banned books in US classrooms for the first half of the 2022-23 school year. Kaur's debut work, 'Milk and Honey', which was released in 2014, was banned due to its exploration of issues related to sexual assault and violence, according to non-profit organisation PEN America, which provided the data.
  • According to the report, 'Milk and Honey' and Toni Morrison's 'The Bluest Eye' tied in ninth place on the list of most banned books in US classrooms for the first half of the 2022-23 school year. Both books were banned in 10 districts in Missouri alone.
  • Apart from 'Milk and Honey', Rupi Kaur has written several other titles, including 'The Sun and Her Flowers' and 'Home Body'. Kaur's collections have sold more than 11 million copies and have been translated into over 43 languages.
