Dr. Peggy Mohan Bags 'Mathrubhumi Book of the Year' Award

Author Dr. Peggy Mohan bagged the 'Mathrubhumi Book of The Year' award at the fourth edition of Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL 2023). Her book 'Wanderers, Kings and Merchants,' portraying evolution of language as the outcome of migrations, won the award that carries Rs. 2 lakh as cash prize and a sculpture. Nobel Laureate Abdulrazak Gurnah presented the award to Mohan at the valedictory ceremony of the four-day MBIFL 2023.
MBIFL 2023, also known as 'Ka' in Malayalam, featured Nobel and Booker Prize winners and Jnanpith awardees and others among over 400 names in creative fields. The fourth edition of MBIFL under the theme "Shadows of history, Lights of the future" made a comeback at a fitting time as Mathrubhumi celebrated its centenary year.

Dharmendra Presad Launches Book "India's Knowledge Supremacy: The New Dawn" Book Written by Dr. A...

A book titled "India's Knowledge Supremacy: The New Dawn" written by international Indian expat, Dr. Ashwin Fernandes was released globally. This book was launched by Minister of Education of India Dharmendra Pradhan, at an event at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre. This New book launched focuses on India's knowledge supremacy, journey showcasing changing trends in newly emerging India.
The book uncovers and provides for interesting reading with an intellectual treat of India's rising superpowerstatus and is designed for all age groups. The book is published by Bloomsbury Publishing, a leading independent publishing house, established in 1986, with authors who have won the Nobel, Pulitzer and Booker Prizes, and is the originating publisher and custodian of the Harry Potter series. It is now available on Amazon and Flipkart.

A Book 'COACHING BEYOND: My Days with the Indian Cricket Team' by R. Kaushik, R. Sridhar

A book titled 'COACHING BEYOND: My Days with the Indian Cricket Team' authored by R. Kaushik & R. Sridhar. The book reflects primarily on R. Sridhar's seven-year coaching tenure with the Indian cricket team as its fielding coach. This book isn't as technical as it is anecdotal. It throws light, for instance, on how Virat Kohli overcame a dismal Test series in England in 2014 to smash four hundreds in as many matches in his next overseas outing, in Australia.
R. Sridhar, a left-arm spinner who played for Hyderabad in the late 1990s, discovered his love for coaching when still an active player. Armed with the requisite knowledge and degrees, he took the National Cricket Academy route to the senior Indian team, where he served as fielding coach for seven eventful years, from 2014 to 2021, and formed an integral back-room coaching troika alongside head coach Ravi Shastri and assistant coach Bharat Arun. Sridhar is now co-founder of Coaching Beyond, an institute that intends to produce not just high-quality players but also coaches.
R. Kaushik has been a cricket writer for more than three decades. Since starting his career with Newstime in Hyderabad, he has worked with Deccan Herald and Wisden India in Bengaluru. He is the co-author of V.V.S Laxman's autobiography, 281 And Beyond as well as Gundappa Vishwanath's autobiography, Wrist Assured. His association with Sridhar dates back to 1991 and he had a ringside view of Sridhar's stint with the Indian team.

Hindi, Punjabi Version of PM's Book 'Exam Warriors' Launched

Governor of Punjab and administrative UT Chandigarh Banwari Lal Purohit launched the Hindi and Punjabi version of PM Narendra Modi's book 'Exam Warriors'. The book launch was attended about 500 students from Punjab and Chandigarh.
'Exam Warriors' was authored in 2018. The revised edition has been translated in 11 local languages with feedback from students, parents and teachers.
UT Adviser Dharam Pal and Punjab Chief Secretary VK Janjua, along with other dignitaries from the Punjab Government and the Chandigarh Administration, were present on the occasion.

Harish Damodaran's 'Broke to Breakthrough' Wins Gaja Book Prize 2022

Senior journalist Harish Damodaran's 'Broke to Breakthrough: The Rise of India's Largest Private Dairy Company', an account of the rise of Hatsun Agro and its founder R. G. Chandramogan, from humble beginnings in Tamil Nadu to becoming the chairperson of a national enterprise worth crores, won the Rs. 15 lakh Gaja Capital Business Book Prize 2022.
The other books in the running included Narotam Sekhsaria's 'Ambuja Story: How a Group of Ordinary Men Created an Extraordinary Company', T.T. Jagannathan and Sandhya Mendonca's 'Disrupt and Conquer: How TTK Prestige Became a Billion-Dollar Company', Harsh Mariwala and Ram Charan's Harsh 'Realities: The Making of Marico', Harish Mehta's 'Maverick Effect: The Inside Story of India's IT Revolution'.
