Book, 'Mapping of the Archives in India'

A new book, 'Mapping of the Archives in India', aims to offer a near encyclopedic picture of active archives and their collections across the nation.
Written by Ramesh Chandra Gaur, director of Kalanidhi Division of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), and research scholar Vismay Basu, the book is the result of collaboration between IGNCA and UNESCO to create a directory of archives in India.
Through extensive literature surveys, the researchers identified 600 institutions across the country housing archives, resulting in the creation of 424 directories within the book.
These directories encompass comprehensive profiles of the contained archives, shedding light on aspects of conservation, digitisation, and archival perspectives.

Kapil Dev Releases Book 'Thread By Thread' on the life of Shambhu Kumar Kasliwal

A book, Thread by Thread, on the life of Shambhu Kumar or 'the' S. Kumar was released by Kapil Dev, at The Palace Halls, NSCI, Mumbai. Kapil Dev has been a brand ambassador for S. Kumars for their TV and print campaigns in the 80s and 2000s. The book has been written by noted journalist and author Sathya Saran and published by Penguin Random House.
'Thread By Thread' is a personal look into the tale of Shambhu Kumar, who, starting from scratch built one of India's most successful textile empires. The book traces his growth from being a trader to an industrialist checking the milestones to reveal the business mantra behind his phenomenal success.

Prasoon Joshi Launches Dr. Hema Joshi's Book 'Do Palkon Ki Chhavn Main'

Prasoon Joshi, celebrated poet, lyricist, and Chief of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), launched 'Do Palkon Ki Chhavn Main,' a book authored by the esteemed academician Dr. Hema Joshi. The book, a fictionalised account, intricately weaves together the author's literary prowess with her deep affection for two Indian cities – Almora, her birthplace, and Prayagraj, where she spent her later years.

ISRO Chairman Somanath withdraws memoir after controversy

S. Somanath, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), said on Saturday that he was withdrawing the publication of his Malayalam memoir, Nilavu Kudicha Simhangal (loosely translated as 'The lions that drank the moonlight').
The decision followed a report in the Malayala Manorama on Saturday that quoted excerpts from the book suggesting that K. Sivan, former ISRO Chairman and Mr. Somanath's immediate predecessor, may have hindered key promotions that Mr. Somanath thought were due.

Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan's New Book 'Breaking the Mould' to be Released in December

Penguin Random House India in a statement said that Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan's new book in collaboration with fellow economist Rohit Lamba, 'Breaking the Mould: Reimagining India's Economic Future,' will be released on December 7.
The former central banker's latest book - his third since he exited the RBI governor's office in September 2016 - comes ahead of the national elections, which will likely be held in the second quarter of 2024. Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rajan - along with a dozen other eminent economists, had released a five-year economic strategy for India to meet mounting economic challenges.
