Amity University Inks MoU with THSC

Amity University, Noida Uttar Pradesh, signed a Memorandum of Understand (MoU) with Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) to train the students in the field of tourism, travel, hospitality and aviation with the support of different campuses of the University.
In the current scenario, the tourism and hospitality sector is ever- evolving and we continue to live in this environment, thus we need to change, adopt and implement newer ways with use of technology. What made us relevant in the past, does not hold true today, so it's all about how agile, adaptive and resilient we can be to prepare ourselves for future challenges.

Hong Kong: Iconic Floating Jumbo Restaurant Sinks

A floating restaurant that was a famous Hong Kong landmark sank, days after it was towed away from the harbour where it operated for nearly 50 years.
The Jumbo restaurant capsized in the South China Sea while on its way to an undisclosed location.
The restaurant closed in March 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic hit.
More than 3 million guests are believed to have eaten its Cantonese cuisine over the years, including the Queen, Tom Cruise and Richard Branson.
It had featured in several films - including a Bond movie - but the pandemic dealt the business a fatal blow as diners turned away.

Qatar's Hamad International Airport Named the World's Best

Qatar's Hamad International Airport was named the World's Best Airport for the second year running. The announcement took place at the Skytrax 2022 World Airport Awards, held at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Paris, France.
Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (BLR Airport) was named the finest regional airport in India and South Asia. Singapore Changi Airport (World's Best Airport Staff Service and World's Best Airport Dining)
Istanbul Airport (World's Best Airport Shopping and Most Family-Friendly Airport)
Tokyo Haneda Airport won awards as the World's Cleanest Airport, the World's Best Domestic Airport, the Best Airport in Asia, and the Best Airport PRM & Accessible Facilities.
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh secured the award as the World's Most Improved Airport.

India's First Private Train Service under 'Bharat Gaurav' Scheme Flagged off from Coimbatore

The Indian Railways' Southern Railway zone began the maiden service of privately-run 'Bharat Gaurav Trains' from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu to Shirdi in Maharashtra.
South Star Rail is the registered service provider that operates the train and the Coimbatore-based company is registered company and it is part of the conglomerate group, Future Gaming & Hotel Services Pvt. Limited.

Goa CM Launches 'Beach Vigil App' for Holistic Management of Beaches

The Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant launched a 'Beach Vigil App', a collaboration between Information Technology (IT) sector and tourism sector that aims to benefit tourists and the institutions working in the beach tourism sector in a holistic management of beaches. Through the Beach Vigil App, the Drishti workers, police and other stakeholders can raise issues for safeguarding the interest of the tourist's. During the launch, Goa IT and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte was also present.
The app will cover everything from reporting illegal hawkers and illegal massage services to beach cleanliness. The Public Health Foundation of India report on India's rape related crimes states that Goa has documented the highest increase of 559.4% in the last two decades, or 5.6 times the national average.
