ICC Holds Talks with India to Resolve Pak. Visa Guarantee for T20 World Cup
Cricket's world governing body (ICC) has held encouraging talks with India's cricket board (BCCI) over visa and tax arrangements as the country prepares to host the T20 World Cup in October. Pakistan Cricket Board has asked the ICC to guarantee visas for its players and support staff ahead of the tournament, as relations between the two neighbours have been frosty. The ICC has also held talks with the BCCI over securing tax exemptions for the tournament from the Indian government.
Meanwhile, the ICC cricket committee, led by former India captain Anil Kumble, also decided to continue with the umpire's call in the Decision Review System, despite the protocol facing heavy criticism in recent months.
World University Games in China Postponed Until Next Year
The World University Games that were due to open in China in just over four months have been postponed until next year, the governing body (FISU) said.
The Switzerland-based FISU said that Covid-19 and travel restrictions prompted the postponement, adding the decision was made jointly with officials in China.
The country has two other large multi-sport events coming up. The Winter Olympics open on February 4, 2022, in Beijing, and the Asian Games, which feature more sports than the Olympics, are set for Hangzhou from September 10, 2022.

Harry Kane Bags Top Scoring Record, England Beat Poland
Harry Kane became England's all-time top penalty scorer with his goal from the spot against Poland in the World Cup qualifier at Wembley Stadium. England won the match by 2-1 as Kane opened the scoring for the host in the 19th minute.
With his 10th career international goal from the spot, Kane broke the Three Lions record that was previously held by Frank Lampard, Goal.com reported. In addition, Kane has now scored on all seven days of the week for England, becoming only the third player to do so for the Three Lions, after Wayne Rooney and Lampard.
With 34 international goals, Kane continues to chase down Wayne Rooney's all-time England record of 53. Kane is already sixth on England's all-time scoring chart, with just Rooney, Bobby Charlton, Gary Lineker, Jimmy Greaves and Michael Owen ahead of him.

India Tops the Medals Tally at Delhi ISSF Shooting World Cup
India finished at the top of the medals table at the 2021 ISSF World Cup New Delhi, held from 18 to 29 March 2021 at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi. India secured 30 medals which included 15 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze. The USA came second with eight medals including four gold, three silver and one bronze.
Pant is Delhi Capitals' Captain for IPL 2021
Rishabh Pant was named captain of Delhi Capitals in place of an injured Shreyas Iyer for the upcoming Indian Premier League season 2021.
Iyer has been ruled out of the IPL after injuring his left shoulder during the recently-concluded India-England ODI series.
This will be Pant's debut as IPL captain. The wicketkeeper-batsman has captained Delhi's state team in the past.

Global sportswear giant Puma has inked a strategic multi-year partnership with Royal Challengers Bangalore as the official kit partner ahead of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.
With this Puma becomes the only global sportswear brand to be currently associated with an IPL team as a sponsor.
The brand had associated with other IPL teams in the past but is now coming back as a team sponsor to the T20 league after a break of nearly eight years.

All-rounder Thisara Perera became the first Sri Lankan to hit six sixes in an over in any form of professional cricket during a domestic tournament.
The 31-year-old achieved the feat during his unbeaten 13-ball 52 while captaining Sri Lanka Army in a group match against Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club in the Major Clubs Limited Over List A tournament at the Army Ground in Panagoda town.

Yogasana in Khelo India Youth Games 2021
Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government has included Yogasana in Khelo India Youth Games 2021 in a bid to develop it as a competitive sport.
Rijiju said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that the government has also given recognition to National Yogasana Sports Federation (NYSF) for promotion and development of Yogasana in the country.
An International Yogasana Sports Federation was formed under the presidentship of yoga guru Baba Ramdev with HR Nagendra as secretary general in November 2019.
Orleans Masters Badminton: Saina Nehwal, Ashwini-Sikki Enter Semis
India's fourth seed Saina Nehwal in women's singles and eighth-seeded women's doubles pair Ashwini Ponnappa and N. Sikki Reddy progressed to the semi-finals of the Orleans Masters Super 100 badminton tournament.
Saina edged past Iris Wang of the USA in the quarter-final match. The Indian shuttler will now lock horns with unseeded Line Christophersen of Denmark in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Ashwini and Sikki beat England's third seeds Chloe Birch and Lauren Smith in the quarter-finals. They will now face Thai top seeds Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai in the semi-finals.
