Tourism Ministry Includes Punaura under PRASAD Scheme
The Union Ministry of Tourism included Punaura, the birthplace of Sita in Sitamarhi district of Bihar, in its revised list of sites identified for the development under its PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spirituality Augmentation Drive) scheme and approved Rs. 36.86 crore for its development and beautification.
Punaura has an ancient temple dedicated to Sita and it has been drawing pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Nepal. Locals have been demanding for the development of tourism facilities at the site. The demand has intensified since the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, which has led to big development plans for the place.

FAITH Suggest Leveraging Top 10 Cross Country Travel Rank of India
Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism & Hospitality (FAITH), the policy federation of all the national associations representing the complete tourism, travel and hospitality industry of India (ADTOI, ATOAI, FHRAI, HAI, IATO, ICPB, IHHA, ITTA, TAAI, TAFI) has given reference to Ministry of Tourism (MoT) of a global travel ranking for cross - country road travel, where India has been ranked 10 out of 118 countries on multiple parameters such as heritage sites, bio- diversity, landscapes, average travel cost etc.
India's ranking is higher than traditional tourism countries. FAITH has suggested to MoT that this top ranking can probably form a vital cornerstone of India's post COVID global repositioning and marketing campaigns. This ranking can be leveraged both for inbound and domestic to demonstrate the inherent tourism attractiveness of our country and enable for gaining post COVID tourism market share.

Capital A, operating as AirAsia, is a Malaysian multinational low-cost airline headquartered near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the largest airline in Malaysia by fleet size and destinations.

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will organise a three-day International Conference on "Enterprise and Entrepreneurialism in Tourism and Hospitality" between January 28 to 30, 2022. The virtual conference would be attended by the prominent authorities from the Ministry of Tourism, National Tourism Associations and Academia.
The virtual conference will be hosted by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar. "This conference will help to bring various stakeholders on a single platform to discuss future tourism trends, ideas, implications and methodologies, underlying the theoretical and practical approaches for innovation and entrepreneurial growth in the Tourism and Hospitality sector.

Jai Ram Thakur Launches App to Promote Local Handicrafts through Tourism in Kangra
With a view to provide a hassle-free experience for tourists and simultaneously boosting sale of local handicrafts, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched 'Apna Kangra' app and hampers handcrafted by self help groups at Dharamsala in the district.
He said that the motive of 'Apna Kangra' was to empower rural women and provide job opportunities to youth through tourism, while facilitating hospitality services such as hotels, homestays and transport to travellers.
While the app is bound to provide a unique experience for tourists on the one hand, on the other it will serve as an e-marketing platform for SHG products from the district.
