OYO Appoints ex-Apple Executive Nirdosh Chouhan as Senior Vice President
Hospitality firm OYO appointed ex-Apple executive Nirdosh Chouhan as Senior Vice President of Engineering and former Swiggy official Kranthi Mitra Adusumilli as Senior Principal Data Scientist.
Chouhan, who has over 18 years of industry experience, will spearhead OYO's Core Engineering Platform that plays a critical role in the company's business.
Adusumilli, who has earlier worked with companies like Swiggy, Viki AI and Mu Sigma, will now lead OYO's Data Science teams to build machine learning algorithms for engaging personalised experiences.
Both of them will directly report to OYO Chief Technology Officer Ankit Mathuria.

Kerala Tourism Launches STREET Project for Experiential Tourism
In a pioneering initiative to take tourism deep into the state's interiors and rural hinterland, Kerala Tourism launched the 'STREET' project in select spots in seven districts, which would help visitors experience the diversity of offerings in these locales.
The project, conceived by the Responsible Tourism Mission, is inspired by the 'Tourism for Inclusive Growth' slogan of The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO. The STREET is an acronym for Sustainable, Tangible, Responsible, Experiential, Ethnic, Tourism hubs. Green street, cultural street, village life experience street, experiential tourism street, agri-tourism street, water street and art street are the themes that have been planned as part of the project.

Railways to Begin Third Segment of Trains for Tourism, Bharat Gaurav Trains
Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that after freight and passenger segments, the railways is set to begin a third segment dedicated to the tourism sector and launch a set of around 190 theme-based trains called Bharat Gaurav trains.
These trains could be run both by the private sector as well as the IRCTC.

Pochampally Makes it to List of Best Tourism Villages in the World
Pochampally village from Telangana was selected as one of the Best Tourism Villages by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). The prestigious award will be presented during the 24th session of the UNWTO General Assembly on December 2, 2021 in Madrid, Spain. In July early this year, Ramappa Temple from Mulugu district bagged the UNESCO's 'World Heritage Site' tag.
Pochampally, which is 50 km from Hyderabad, is a town in Yadadri district. It is popularly known as the 'Silk city of India' for the exquisite sarees that are woven through a unique style called Ikat.
This style, Pochampally Ikat, received a Geographical Indicator (GI Status) in 2004. Ikat involves the process of wrapping (or tying) and dyeing sections of bundled yarn to a predetermined colour pattern before they are woven. The dye penetrates into exposed sections while the wrapped section remains undyed. This pattern formed by the yarn in this process is woven into fabric.
