PM Modi Release book on ex-PM on His 96th Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a book titled 'Atal Bihari Vajpayee' in Parliament, a commemorative volume on the former Prime Minister on the 96th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister.
To mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which is celebrated as Good Governance Day, President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and several other leaders and ministers paid rich floral tributes to Vajpayee earlier in the day.

S. Jaishankar Releases Book "Reporting India"

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar launched the book 'Reporting India' in Delhi.
The book is written by ANI Chairman Prem Prakash. External Affairs Minister said that he can readily identify with the account on Emergency.
"As a journalist, the chapter on Emergency is both very personal and passionate. I can tell as someone who was at university at that time but was familiar with the press, this is a chapter in account with which I can readily identify," said EAM Jaishankar.
The book 'Reporting India' is a-condensed eyewitness history of India since independence.

Government of India Releases E-booklet "Putting Farmers First"

Amid the intensifying farmer's protest against the three farm laws, the government has launched an e-booklet named 'Putting Farmers First' highlighting the success stories of farmers who have benefited from contract farming after enactment of these legislations. Moreover, it's quite remarkable at this time to highlight the success stories when thousands of farmers are protesting against it.

Jairam Ramesh Bags Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay New India Foundation Award

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh's biography of former Union Defence Minister V. K. Krishna Menon bagged this year's Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay New India Foundation Award jointly with debutant author Amit Ahuja.
Ramesh has clinched the award for authoring the first-ever biography of a man who was the only leader in the 1960s to consistently argue for a negotiated border settlement with China.
His book, "A Chequered Brilliance: The Many Lives of VK Krishna Menon" traces the life of one of India's most controversial figures remembered for his "failings" during the 1962 India-China war.

'Bhairavi' by Shivani is now Available in English

Skeletons in the closet, a holiday romance, the inexorable allure of mystics and a tragic turn of events can be found in Bhairavi the Runaway, a Gothic novella by Gaura Pant.
Gaura Pant, who was popularly known by her pen name Shivani, was a prolific writer in Hindi during the early 60s and 70s. Her novels often centered around the culture and society of the times and its often hypocritical expectations of women.
A chance conversation with a colleague in the publishing industry led Priyanka Sarkar to take up the translation of 'Bhairavi' into English. Priyanka Sarkar is a Delhi-based translator and editor.
Priyanka required the consent of Pant's family before starting on the project. She worked on around 10 pages and sent it acoss to Ira Pande, Gaura's daughter. Once she was satisfied and gave the approval, Priyanka went ahead with the translation.
