Westland Launches New Children Imprint ''Red Panda''

Leading Indian publishing house Westland announced the launch of their new children publishing programme under the imprint "Red Panda", on Children''s Day.
Under the imprint, Westland will publish a range of books for children across genres including fiction, non-fiction, picture books, activity books and young adult fiction.
''Red Panda'' adds a new and exciting dimension to our publishing in India and, in some ways, completes the circle for us. We hope these books will be read and loved by young readers as well as by their parents and educators.
The first release from the imprint will be "Happy Birthday, World!", a picture book for young readers (four years and above) by India''s beloved children''s writer Ruskin Bond in collaboration with artist Maya Ramaswamy.

CJI Ranjan Gogoi Releases Assamese Version Of Book 'Courts Of India: Past To Present'

Chief Justice of India Justice Ranjan Gogoi released the Assamese version of the book 'Courts of India: Past to Present' in Guwahati.
Releasing the book published by the Publication Division, Mr. Gogoi termed it as the architecture of justice. He said, the book fabulously explains the Indian justice system.
The Chief Justice of India also emphasized that the law students should go through the book.
Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Justice of India designate Sharad Arvind Bobde along with other dignitaries also attended the event. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the book will be provided to all government libraries in Assam.
In his address, Justice Bobde termed the book as one of the finest compilations. Justice Bobde said, he is looking forward to see the book get translated in other languages too.
The event was also attended by the Principal Director General of All India Radio News and Publication Division Ira Joshi.
The book has captured the historical developments which took place in the history of nation's courts. The various chapters of the book narrates the historical events of the court.

Keshava Guha's Debut novel 'Accidental Magic'

Author Keshava Guha has penned his debut novel which channels Harry Potter nostalgia and straddles multiple contexts and themes like fandom, identity, aspirations and relationships.
Accidental Magic was launched at the Bangalore Literature Festival.
Based in Bengaluru and Boston, the novel weaves in cross-cultural and relatable contexts such as the world of fan fiction, university life, with complex themes like solitude, self-discovery, identity, aspirations, and the tussle between love and duty.
The novel is about how flawed relationships can be; how people battle loneliness, live on hope and search for that perfect connection — often settling for imperfection — it is also about the tension between duty and the individual pursuit of happiness.

3 Books On Writings Of Guru Nanak Dev Released To Commemorate His 550th Birth Anniversary

Union ministers Ramesh Pokhriyal ''Nishank'' and Harsimrat Kaur Badal launched three new books on the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism to commemorate his 550th birth anniversary.
Originally published in Punjabi, the three books have been translated into 15 major Indian languages.
The books titled "Guru Nanak Bani", "Nanak Bani", and "Sakhian Guru Nanak Dev" was released by HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ''Nishank'' and Union Food Processing Industries minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal at Delhi University''s Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College.

New Book Deep-Dives Into Brahmaputra's History

The Brahmaputra river that has shaped both the landscape of the Assam valley and the livelihoods of its inhabitants, is the subject of a new book.
Titled "The Unquiet River: A biography of the Brahmaputra", the book reimagines the layered history of Assam with the river at the centre.
It has been written by historian Arupjyoti Saikia, and published by Oxford University Press (OUP).
The book claims to combine a range of disciplinary scholarship to unravel the geological forces as well as human endeavour which have shaped the river into what it is today.
