Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina receives Dr Kalam Smriti International Excellence Award
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh is conferred with the Dr Kalam Smriti International Excellence Award 2019 in Dhaka. The award has been instituted in the memory of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
The award citation lauded Prime Minister Hasina for her vision of a peaceful and prosperous South Asia, free of tension, conflicts and terrorism. It acknowledged her contribution in fostering cooperation between India and Bangladesh.
Chief Adviser of the Dr Kalam Smriti International Advisory Council former Ambassador T.P. Sreenivasan handed over the award to Sheikh Hasina.
Documentary Film Based On Life Of Uttarakhand Farmer Nominated For Oscars
A documentary film based on life of a Uttarakhand farmer has been nominated for Oscars. The documentary film named Moti Bagh is based on the life of Vidyadutt, a farmer living in Pauri Garhwal region of the state.
The state Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat congratulated the director, Nirmal Chander Dandriyal, and said it will inspire youths to stay in their villages and work for their communities.

CBSE Honours 34 Meritorious Teachers
CBSE honoured the best of the best school teachers from CBSE schools spread across the country. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conferred awards to 35 meritorious teachers' from all across the country at a glittering award ceremony planned.
As per the official invite shared by the Board, the award distribution ceremony was attended by Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' as the chief guest. He was joined by MoS for HRD Sanjay Dhotre.
The Guest of Honour was Rina Ray I.A.S, Secretary of Department of School Education & Literacy with the HRD Ministry.
A total of 34 students from across the country were honoured in an awards distribution ceremony.
Tamil Nadu Government Announced Anna Medals
The Tamil Nadu government announced Anna Medals to 130 personnel from the uniformed services and others.
The Anna medals, named after late Chief Minister CN Annadurai, a Dravidian stalwart, are given to those including from the police, fire and forensic departments in recognition of their "outstanding devotion to duty."
The medals are awarded on the occasion of Annadurai's birth anniversary on September 15, 2019.

Bangladesh School Project Wins Aga Khan Architecture Award
An innovative project for constructing a floating school for marginalised children in Bangladesh has been awarded the prestigious Aga Khan Architecture Award 2019.
The award was given away in Kajan, the republic of Tatarstan for the Arcadia Education Project in South Kanarchor of Bangladesh.
The project involved the construction of a school in an area which is underwater during the monsoon months.
The architect of the project Saif Ul Haque designed a school which remains on the ground during the dry season and floats when the area is submerged in water during monsoon.
