Grammy-winning artist Gwen Stefani was named the PCAs' Fashion Icon, which could not be bestowed on a more deserving, more stylish candidate — though Stefani herself calls the award "surreal."
Stefani debuted her fashion line, L.A.M.B., which is an acronym for her debut solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby., in 2004. The brand has been sold worldwide, with celebrities Teri Hatcher, Nicole Kidman, Kelly Ripa, and Paris Hilton among those who have sported Stefani's fashions.

Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey confers National Entrepreneurship Awards 2019
Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey conferred the National Entrepreneurship Awards 2019 to Enterprises and Ecosystem builders.
The fourth edition of the award ceremony was organized to mark the completion of 5 years of setting up of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in 2014.
The awards aim to recognize and honour the outstanding young First-Generation Entrepreneurs, and Ecosystem builders for their outstanding contribution in entrepreneurship development and providing support to the entrepreneurs.
It seeks to instill and entrench the entrepreneurial attitude among the future generations and the Youth of India.
George Schaller lifetime award for Ullas Karanth
Wildlife biologist K. Ullas Karanth, Director, Centre for Wildlife Studies, Bengaluru, was awarded the George Schaller Lifetime Award in Wildlife Conservation Science for his contribution to the field of conservation.
He is the first recipient of the award instituted by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), New York, in honour of Dr. George Schaller, who is considered one of the greatest wildlife scientists and conservationists globally.
A release said the WCS George Schaller Lifetime Award in wildlife conservation science has been created to honour WCS colleagues for outstanding contributions to saving wildlife and wild places.
The NASA women who inspired 'Hidden Figures' Get Congressional Gold Medals
Four African American women known as the "Hidden Figures" who worked at NASA during the Space Race were awarded Congressional Gold Medals, the highest civilian award in the US.
President Donald Trump signed into law the Hidden Figures Congressional Gold Medal Act.
Engineers Christine Darden and Mary Jackson, as well as mathematician Katherine Johnson and computer programmer Dorothy Vaughan were awarded Congressional Gold Medals.
Vaughan and Jackson, who passed away, were both awarded posthumously.
A fifth gold medal was granted in honor of all women who contributed to NASA during the Space Race.
Deming prize for Elgi Equipments
Air compressor manufacturer Elgi Equipments has won the Deming Prize for excellence in Total Quality Management.
The company's Total Quality Management journey started in 2008 and gained momentum in 2014. Elgi is aiming to be the second-largest manufacturer of air compressors in the world by 2027. Currently, it is in the seventh position.

Six eminent professors have won the Infosys Prize 2019 across different categories of science and research, the software major's science foundation.
The annual award includes a pure gold medal, a citation and a prize purse worth $100,000 or its equivalent in the Indian rupees.
The winners of the Infosys Prize 2019 were announced across six categories -- Engineering and Computer Sciences, Humanities, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Social Sciences.
A panel of accomplished jurors comprising renowned scholars and professors, shortlisted the winners from 196 nominations.

Rajasthan Patrika group chairman Gulab Kothari has been chosen for the prestigious Raja Ram Mohan Roy Award, presented by the Press Council of India, for his outstanding contribution towards journalism.
The award will be presented on November 16, 2019 on the occasion of the National Press Day.
In a statement, the Press Council of India (PCI) also announced other winners of the National Awards for Excellence in Journalism 2019.

Himachali Tourism Start-Up NotOnMap Bags NSIF Award
Community-based tourism start-up NotOnMap (NoM), which has its head quarter in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district, has won NASSCOM Foundation's Social Innovation Forum (NSIF) award.
A total of 10 organisations were selected across different categories out of 1,500 applicants through a rigorous selection criteria and NoM emerged winner in 'other social innovation category'.

Chairman of Rajasthan Patrika Pvt. Limited Ghulab Kothari won the Raja Ram Mohan Roy award for his contribution to journalism. Raj Chengappa, Group Editorial Director (Publishing) India Today, shares the award on 'Rural Journalism' with Dainik Bhaskar correspondent Sanjay Saini.
Shiv Swaroop Awasthi, reporter Dainik Jagran and Anu Abrahim, sub-editor Mathrubhumi, won in the "Developmental Reporting" category.
Krishn Kaushik and Sandeep Singh of Indian Express won in "Financial Reporting" category for their ICICI bank fraud series. Ruby Sarkar of Deshbandhu and Anuradha Mascarenhas was awarded for "gender based reporting". Saurabh Duggal of Hindustan Times won in "sports reporting" category. P.G. Unnikrishnan and Akhil E.S. of the Mathrubhumi share the photojournalism award for "single news picture".
TVS Motor's Srinivasan Gets Deming Award
Venu Srinivasan, chairman, TVS Motor Co. Ltd., and Sundaram Clayton Ltd., was conferred the prestigious Deming 'Distinguished Service Award For Dissemination and Promotion Overseas', at a ceremony held in Tokyo.
Mr. Srinivasan became the first industrialist from India to be bestowed this prestigious award for his contribution to the field of total quality management.
Deming Prize is the highest award for TQM in the world. The award is given to individuals who had made outstanding contribution in dissemination and promotion of total quality management. It is sponsored by the Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers (JUSE).
